of this amazing Times Magazine article/interview that Caitlin Moran very recently did with Benedict Cumberbatch: What’s not to love about Benedict Cumberbatch?

There are so many parts I want to quote, I'd have to copy/paste pretty much the whole thing over! The one where she asks him to do some acting and he does John Harrison and Smaug for her gives me the shivers!

And his mother asking Ms. Moran her to "find him a bird" so they could finally become grandparents... I'll volunteer!

One of the covers of the February 2013 issue of Empire Magazine:

OMG!!!! *fans self*

The alternative version has Kirk, but who cares about him?! ;)

An article with some highlights and images from this issue is available on TrekMovie.com.

I have been remiss in sharing this Time article about fan fiction, which actually gives a well-balanced overview of fan fiction, its authors, copyright questions and different authors' reactions to it. Well worth a read.

I know it's a bit late in the day now, but if someone could get me today's Times Magazine and ship it to me in New York, I'd be reeeeeeeeeeeally grateful!!! Obviously I'll reimburse you - PayPal or Amazon gift certificate, whatever you prefer. Cheers! :)

but next week will entail a trip to our various newsstands here to check if they have the UK Marie Claire - I absolutely need a copy of their December issue!!! *drools*

I'm not sure how I'll survive meeting Benedict on 14th November. Yes, I got a Gold Ticket for The Children's Monologues, which includes access to the afterparty... *flails* At least I won't be on my own since [livejournal.com profile] _doodle and a friend of hers also got one!

The cover story of Empire magazine's new issue (out tomorrow) is: The Hobbit!

What’s that, you say? It’s not even out for two years? Well, yes, but inside our special feature, you’ll find a one-stop shop of information on the films that may be the most anticipated of the next few years.

More on their website.

Kristin Thompson writes on her blog, It sounds from the online description that anyone who has been keeping up on TheOneRing.net, here, and on other specialist sites will be familiar with quite a bit of what’s in this issue. Still, there’s a new interview with Guillermo Del Toro, and he usually manages to drop in a few new facts.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] txvoodoo for the link!

Heads up for British John Barrowman fans: He will be touring the UK with his upcoming album during April 2008! Tickets go on sale Friday 9th November, album release date is the coming Monday, 12th November. You can listen to extracts from some of the songs here. If you (like me) can't see the player on that page: It's under the picture of the album cover; right-click on that area and then choose "play" and it should work, as long as you have the Flash plugin. Also watch out for John on Strictly Come Dancing this Sunday 11th November, and on GMTV on the 12th. More info at his official site.

Good news of today: My copy of Starlog #341, which I'd got off eBay because it features an interview with Sean Maher, arrived today. One thing worth getting up for! \o/

ETA: On a related note, check out [livejournal.com profile] meoinya's reports of her three trips to Firefly/Serenity conventions within the last month:

Starfury's Serenity: Infinity
Creation's Firefly/Serenity Salute
Starfury's Serenity LA

The latter two contain some interesting information which came from Sean Maher and Nathan Fillion, respectively... and in the former case particularly rather confirms the opinion I have of Starfury owner Sean H., while the latter I have already heard about, only with a higher number of months mentioned. I doubt very, very much that I'll go to Serenity: Complete next April, even if I could schedule it in. Hey, I can hope they'll add Sean Maher to the guest list of FedCon - it's unlikely that I can go the whole weekend, but they do sell day tickets...

I updated my last entry with the rest of the Karl article. Interview. Questionnaire. Thing. Including two more large gorgeous pictures, and a tiny one, if you need more incentive! ;)

Night night!

Pssst... [livejournal.com profile] shirasade, check out the fourth item in the news from yesterday (in French or English, it's not available in German yet) at http://www.johnhowe2007.com/!!!

This scan is from a fairly recent Karl article/interview in New Zealand "Pulp" magazine, and the reason why it caught my eye in particular is the t-shirt:

An AIM t-shirt!!! ♥ I just can't help but wonder if he got it from Russell Means, who he worked with on Pathfinder. Russell, of course, is one of the most prominent members of AIM, and has since the early 90s apeared in several films. For those interested, check out his Wikipedia entry. I'd love to ask Karl about working with Russell! *crosses fingers that he'll come to RingCon*

ETA: For those who are interested, the rest of the article/interview behind the cut. )

If anyone happens to own any of the mags featuring said ads, I would love it if you could scan them for me! And err, if you come across the billboards etc. and happen to have your digital camera with you... *sweet smile*

Typical! I'm looking for that picture Viggo took of Dom in Te Anau - no I'm not talking about the one with the fish which is in Sign Language, but the black&white one that Viggo took when it snowed, with Dom crouching on the bench with a bottle in his hand. The one that was taken the same time as this one of Lij. *points to icon* I'm sure I have it on my harddisk but can't find it, no success in the starDom gallery, and can't get into Patsie's site, and I can't for the life of me remember where it was published and don't have time to go through my 15 binders of LOTR magazines. Help please?! *gives friendslist puppy dog look*

In other news, Kevin arrived!!! Or at least the action figures. Black and white, colour, and Marv with Kevin's head. What?! How could I possibly resist, huh?!

[livejournal.com profile] serenitysangel - your parcel arrived, thank you!!! *bug hug* Doubt I'll get around to read the mags before leaving but I can do that when I come back. *vbg* And thank you so much again for the autographed program and Sean's autograph - I hope I can find a fitting frame for the latter, because I have the perfect spot to put it! *vbg*

OK, off to continue with the gazillion things I have to get done before bedtime today...
