Hee, Michael Semanick worked on The Village! (Sound mixing - also LOTR)
M. Night Shyamalan wrote the role of Lucious Hunt especially for Joaquin! (Ahaha and Joaquin told him not to mention that, but he did anyway.) ♥
Totally cute story told by Bryce, about when the actors were in boot camp in a "living history museum" in Pennsylvania, to prepare for life in the 19th century: One day Joaquin, who she hadn't even spoken to so far, came up to her. He'd been wookdworking all day, and he said, "Um, Bryce, I... I made this for you..." and gave her a cane he'd made himself, and carved with "Ivy" - her character's name. And that was her introduction to Joaquin. She said he made her job very easy to fall in love with him. :)
Oh.My.God. They really should not be telling me stories like this...
*ahem* And there's a video on Youtube of Nora Jones singing "Home of the Blues" at the "Evening for Johnny Cash" event from last autumn, and in the background you can see Joaquin play the guitar - they only really show him late in the song, unfortunately, but you can see him sing along. :) Some screen caps are here.

Date: 2006-04-04 02:01 pm (UTC)Yes, he's in Signs too - but I much prefer The Village, of these two. My only complaint about it is that he basically disappears in the middle of the story!
Have you seen Joaquin in Walk the Line? He's FANTASTIC! I also love him in 8mm (eyeliner!!!), and Quills. And I still have many of his films to catch up on.
Heee, nice to see more people on my flist come out of the Joaq-admiring closet. ;)
