ODQ here with your long overdue Hobbit update. ;) Not that there has been much in the way of real news, of course, but here are a few tidbits that might be of interest.
First of all, the LotR Trilogy EE Blu-ray Edition is available for pre-order. As you can see from the press release, it contains all the extras of the Extended and Limited DVD releases, but no new material.
Speaking of those extras - sadly Costa Botes won't be filming behind-the-scenes material for The Hobbit.
Fans of LotR Calligrapher/Artist/"Map Guy" Extraordinaire, Daniel Reeve, may be interested in this new map of Wellywood that he created for Wellington Rover Tours! A limited number are available for NZ$24.95 plus NZ$7.50 shipping and handling worldwide, and if interest is there, more might be made available.
Howard Shore has had a first discussion with PJ on the Hobbit score, according to Doug Adams. \o/
Ian McKellen has made several updates on his Hobbit Blog.
TORn has first (blurry) spy pictures from the set, here and here.
And last but not least, check out how dashing three dwarves and a hobbit can look (WOW, Martin!!! Now I want to see John Watson wear a tux in a future Sherlock episode!) in this report about the opening of the Roxy Cinema in Miramar. Contains bonus PJ in a Rocketeer costume - and click on the "next" link beneath the photo to see more images featuring (among others) Roger Taylor and Tanya Rodger, Jamie Selkirk, and Ian McKellen.
