Does the Sri Lankan government want civil war to return?! I mean air strikes, WTF?! No I'm not sanctioning the suicide bombing or any other acts of violence on the Tamil side, and I certainly don't say the LTTE is without fault in the whole conflict, but damn there are other ways for the government to react, especially since they can't be sure it really was the LTTE that sent the suicide bomber!

*sigh*

Agreed. I have often wondered why these governments apparently need to be so violent. I can understand the need to protect it's citizens against terrorists - but there is often an unneccessary level of violence that goes along with that. Maybe it is all they know and it has not occurred to them to change. Maybe that is the only way to actually stop the terrorists. I doubt it though, because violence only begets violence. What will it take for humanity to move past this brutal mentality?

Yes! They still have enough damage from the conflict so far... and the tsunami! That would have been an occasion for the two factions to cross fences and really help each other and therefore maybe get closer, but no... *sad sigh*
