Since I've never read this paring (and I'm challenged to write them) I'm going to start with this rec. I started with chapter one and so far, mmmmm... yup. I like it!!!

I've seen very few films of him. In fact, I think I've just seen him at the Bourne Identity (2). And that's it! Sad, isn't it? I think no Karl movies make it to Spain :/

Yeah... I have two on DVD - The Truth About Demons, and Chronicles of Riddick, and will get more for sure! Thank goodness for DVDs!

I've never heard about the first one. But sounds like (again) violent Karl (which is my main problem with him on parings!) :/

Not at all! Here's the summary from IMDB: "Anthropologist Harry Ballard researches obscure demon cults and sects since his brother died, victim of one of those same demon-worshiping cults. One day he receives a treath from a so-called Black Convent, whose leader seeks to prey on Ballard. With the help of a strange, sexy woman he makes his way through the night in search of his salvation and the redemption of his lost brother." It's not really a horror film, and in places it's quite funny - oh and Karl walks around topless for a good time... ;P

And yes, in so many stories he's depicted as an asshole or at the very least arrogant - and I have no idea why! He seems intense, yes, but certainly not arrogant or an asshole.

I read the fic, and it's HOTLIKEHELL *takes sweat off forehead* Holly mother! As you say, the Elijah-in-control at the beginning is fantastic! So off the angelic image we have of him!!

But Karl was once more rather violent. If a controlled violence and one very wanted (and very hot) --but it doesn't help the image I have of him, if you know what I mean.

Don't get me wrong, is the kind of Karl the fic needs and the fic is just WOW-THUD-like *hehehe*

But I have a challenge (

samena's) and I can't find anything but violent-Karl. Any suggestion you can give me is more than welcome!!!

Yes - in this fic it works because this is exactly what Elijah wants/needs, and also it helps that Karl does hesitate at first, until he is sure that Elijah knows what he wants - so it's not quite as bad as many.

mews1945 definitely show a different side to Karl. Damn I'm sure there were some more, but I can't for the life of me find them in my favourites right now... I really need to start sorting them by pairing! Will let you know when I come up with more!

I've printed the

abundantlyqueer's one for reading, but I can't enter the

mews1945's ones because they are forbidden (friends-locked). I feel shy about asking someone to friend me who does't know me at all, just for a fic. I'll try with the first one :)

I think the hobbits are for hobbits, though. hehe.

mews1945 doesn't mind at all. It used to be public but for some reason she felt she had to flock it - you can see in the comments of the first chapter quite a few requests from others.

I finished, and yes, I liked it. It was very hot. Still not my ideal characterization of Karl, but I did like her Elijah very much. Slutty, experienced Elijah is one of my kinks, I guess. Too bad she kept changing tenses randomly throughout the story. That was a bit distracting. But yeah, a great read. :)

Yes, the terms and some strange sentences - but otherwise omghot! *fans self* I feel the same about Karl - but it shows that he has a conscience, and only when it becomes eviden that Elijah does want this does he let loose.

Thank you! It's for a gay magazine!! I didn't think it was possible, but I adore him even more, now. Though of course he's still in denial. Come on, Karl, embrace your inner gay! ;D Awww, but he's a great guy, isn't he? So down to earth and level-headed. And honest. And funny. *sigh*

*snigger* Oh yes, I noticed too. I didn't know he was married - last I heard (which admittedly probably goes back at least to 2004) he wasn't yet, though I knew about the girlfriend and daughter.

Oh yes, he sounds great. Another man I'd love to be able to just have a chat with!

Yeah, Doom opened in 2005, if I'm not mistaken. All I know is that he has a son called Hunter and he and the mother are separated. But that was years ago, so chances are he has another woman these days. *sigh* Lucky bitch. ;)

I love the way he talks about sex and homosexuality, though. He's such a normal bloke. Someone you might find at a pub, hanging out with the guys, having a few beers. Not dark and intense at all. In fact, if presented with a pair of handcuffs and nipple-clamps, he'd probably burst into laughter and crack a few dirty jokes. But hey, who knows... ;)

Oh right, it might have been a boy - not sure why I thought it was a girl. Yeah, lucky bitch indeed, whoever is with him! ;)
