All right - anyone who hasn't read/doesn't intend to read the Nightrunner books can safely scroll by this post. Unless you're incurably curious. ;)

So I had intended to make a post about possible actors to play the characters in these books. Well I ended up doing a bit more. May I present:

*giggle* One would think I had too much time on my hands, but hey, I still need practice with GoLive and particularly CSS, so this was a great little project for that! Obviously a lot of characters are still missing, but those can be added anytime.

So, any comments or suggestions? *eyes samena, forestrane and mtngoat* :D

I will definitely go on looking for possible actors. Do we want people who fit the type, or do we want them to be really able to play the characters in a movie, if possible?

Well it doesn't have to be only actors, but I wouldn't use just any random pic off the internet from person X in country Y either.

LOL well, quite a few of the characters have long hair. :)

Heh. I guess I'm not very atuned to visual descriptions - the characters just kind of appear in my head, sometimes quite different from what the author had in mind, I'm sure. For example the Alec in my brain has brown hair, a bit shaggy but short, and green eyes. And Seregil looks a bit like Elrond except a bit younger and more mischievous. :)

Now that I think of it, actually, Alec looks a bit like Jared Padelecki, only not quite so tall. And Nysander bears an uncanny resemblance to Ian McKellen.

Hmm Jared would be possible I guess, but Travis Fimmel looks more like I imagine Alec. As for Nysander, yes I could see Ian play him, with a bald pate. He has that playfulness and twinkle in his eyes that is so characteristic of Nysander.

Sometimes I have that too, but not in this case. Alec is most definitely blond for me. :) LOL a young Elrond as Seregil? Hmmm no, not pretty enough! ;)

Damien Sarque is a great choice for Seregil. And Lauren Ambrose is exactly how I pictured Beka too.

When I first saw the actor you chose for Thero, my reaction was "No Way", but the more I looked, the more I started seeing the possibilities.

Since I hardly ever watch TV or go to the movies, I'm really bad at this sort of thing. But, it was fun to see your choices.

I'm still reading Bone Twin. It's definitely darker than NR books were.

Actually I can't claim credit for Damien or Diego - they were both suggested on the Flewelling Yahoogroup. Actually Diego was suggested for Seregil, but several posters thought he looks more like Thero, and I totally agree. IMHO he'd be perfect for Thero! What do you think of Travis Fimmel as Alec? samena and I were discussing some possibilities for Nysander last night - like Ian McKellen, Christopher Plummer, Frank Langella... Ian I think would work particularly well because he has that warmth, with and playfulness that I associate with Nysander.

And yes, same here - I'm SO out of the loop!

I'll definitely get the Tamir Triad.
