Mission accomplished!
Sep. 29th, 2006 06:01 pmYay for the Woolworth's in Oxford - they had the plush and windup Mumble! *bounce*
The walking tour of Oxford was very interesting, I took quite a lot of pictures. And it was so funny - our guide's accent sounded familiar to me, so I asked her where she came from originally - and indeed, it was Switzerland, LOL! She's been living here for 40 years. There was rain but we were sheltered during the worst, thank goodness. I also paid my respects to the Professor - Wolvercote graveyard is outside the centre of town, but along a bus line so not difficult to get to, and my driver was so nice to let me get off just by the entrance. The way to Tolkien's grave is marked by little signs, thank goodness, as the graveyard covers quite a big area and J.R.R. and Edith's grave is at the back. There are flowers and other items there from fans. I didn't have anything to leave, but did say "thank you" to him for giving us Frodo. :)
I also found a black blazer jacket and two black skirts, which I'd wanted to get for a while, in the petite section of the sale at Next, so a very successful day! Now I'm looking forward to dinner at a Lebanese restaurant.
Tomorrow C10!
