Just in time for the next depression, Dominic Monaghan and Freddy Rodriguez star in a horror thriller offering one potential solution to our economic problems.

Set in 2100, "Fortuna" envisions an Earth where a collapsed economy and climate crises have eliminated the middle class, leaving a few very wealthy and the teeming masses in severe poverty. To give hope and avoid revolt, the elite create Fortuna, a mysterious game where one in a thousand wins a big payday and joins the upper classes. But their hidden goal to "reduce poverty" by 30% over 50 years comes with a deadly price tag.

Never heard of that director, but then I am paying no attention whatsoever to the Swiss film scene. Wonder what's up with Pet? I haven't heard anything about it anymore. It better not fall through, because I really really really want to see Dom in a role like that!

Seems he's following in the footsteps of Viggo. :)

Actor Dominic Monaghan is staging an exhibition of his photographs in Los Angeles next week.

Among Monaghan's favourite photos will be shots of his Lost co-stars Matthew Fox, Josh Holloway and Jorge Garcia and his The Lord Of The Rings co-stars Elijah Wood and Sir Ian McKellen.

The Happy Accidents exhibition will be held at Hamilton-Selway Fine Art in West Hollywood from 14 March until 27 April (08). Monaghan says, "Happy Accidents refers to those moments where you don't expect what is going to happen, but it ends up being something good."

20th Century Fox has cast former Lost star Dominic Monaghan as Barnell Bohusk, aka Blackwing, in X-Men: Wolverine, sources reveal exclusively to JustJared.com.

According to Wiki, Barnell’s body changes into that of a humanoid-bird form, with a beaked face, bulbous eyes, wing-like arms that give him the ability to fly (albeit clumsily), talons on his hands and feet, and double-jointed knees. In mutant form, Blackwing also possesses heightened agility, and he may possess heightened senses and a lighter skeletal structure like the avian X-Man formerly known as the Angel (Ben Foster played this character in X3).

Monaghan, 31, be joining Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth), Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), Taylor Kitsch (Gambit), Will.i.am (Kestrel), Danny Huston (William Stryker), and Lynn Collins (Silver Fox).

X-Men: Wolverine slashes its way into theaters on May 1, 2009.

There's nothing on Variety or Hollywood Reporter yet, but I seriously hope this is true!!! Finally a role in a big blockbuster...

"Anyone in the audience?" - if I had been there you'd SO have heard me scream, "ME! ME!" and could have watched me run down to the stage. :D GUH, Dom and snakes, an irresistible combination. I really do hope he'll get some animal/environmental show, that would be so great. Odd though that he didn't mention I Sell the Dead when Craig asked what he'd been doing! Exclusive: I Sell the Dead Back in Production!

It’s been five months since Glenn McQuaid’s 18th Century period horror film I Sell the Dead has been in front of cameras, but over the weekend we learned that finally all is back in place to continue making what promises to be the most interesting of Larry Fessenden’s Scareflix film lineup to date.

So what took so long for the film to finally finish up? Seems co-star Ron Perlman had another film he was committed to making over in Budapest, something about a guy from hell, but now he’s back and ready to immerse himself into a very different sort of role.
