All Shall Love Me and Despair

Sean Maher has decided to come out!

I'm so, so, SO happy and excited that he finally felt ready to do it that I literally flailed and squeed when I saw the article. And even created a Twitter account, just so I could tell Sean so. (About the being happy&excited part, not the flailing. ;)) There's a newer article from a short while ago today, where Sean talks about the reactions he got so far. Hopefully things will stay so positive, overall, for him and his family.

I haven't gotten around to watch The Playboy Club pilot episode yet, but will definitely do so asap. Fingers crossed that the show will do well - it would be nice for Sean to be a regular in a series that isn't cancelled within its first season!

And now that I finally found them again on one of my external HDs, I need to get my hands on whatever plugin I seem to need to properly import the SeanMaher.info files from GoLive into Dreamweaver, so I can make some much needed updates to the Filmography, among other areas...

And no I can't say why - yet - but it's something that has put a shit-eating grin on my face that's guaranteed to stay on for the rest of the day!!!! :D Now how to actually concentrate on work... LOL!

In exactly six months this very minute(-ish), my plane will leave Zurich airport in direction of London Heathrow, where I'll join trianne and hopefully ladysunrope and yukiball on Air New Zealand flight NZ1 headed towards Auckland via LA! \o/

OMGISITJULYYET???!!!

Day 3 of the 8 days meme actually has several things that made me happy - and it's not even evening yet:

My boss's reaction when I told him I needed 12th June off to go to London for The King and I starring a favourite actor of mine: 1) "Hey, cool!" and 2) (while making a note of it in his calendar:) "Hey, I'm not here then anyway." - me: "Oh good, so it doesn't matter to you if I'm not here anyway, right?" *giggle* Having a geek as your boss is great!

Being able to leave work early because while I have work, it's all boring little stuff that's not urgent at all, and I do have some spare hours in excess of the ones that I'll use up for the "Christmas break" while our offices are closed.

Oh yes, and last but not least, my Linkin Park "Road to Revolution - Live at Milton Keynes" CD/DVD arriving. Am about halfway through and it's f***ing awesome!!!

Elves gather at Warners
Rawson Thurber to write, direct, produce comic adaptation

"Elfquest," the cult comic by Wendy and Richard Pini, is heading to the big screen courtesy of Warners Bros. and Rawson Thurber.

Thurber will write, direct and produce the feature, whose format is undetermined.

The original comic, which the Pinis initially self-published starting in 1978, followed a tribe of elves known as the Wolfriders in their attempts to survive and link with other dispersed elves on an Earth-like planet with two moons while on the lookout for tribes of humans and trolls, both of which acted as allies and enemies.

The series -- which at certain points in its history was published by both Marvel and DC Comics -- attracted a more mature audience as it went along, with scenes of battles and sexuality that were intense for that time.

Hollywood has long tried to adapt the series, and several attempts at an animated series or feature have been made over the years.

Courtenay Valenti is overseeing for Warners.

CAA-repped Thurber, a commercials director, broke through into features with the 2004 Ben Stiller hit "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story." He also wrote and directed "The Mysteries of Pittsburgh," an adaptation of the Michael Chabon novel.

The Pinis are repped by RWSH and Hansen Literary.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! Format undetermined - on the one hand animated would be great, on the other hand it would be really interesting to see actors in these roles - as long as they cast them well... *starts Elijah Wood as Skywise petition*

NEW LINE AND MGM TO CO-PRODUCE AND SHARE WORLDWIDE DISTRIBUTION RIGHTS

PETER JACKSON AND FRAN WALSH TO EXECUTIVE PRODUCE TWO FILMS BASED ON “THE HOBBIT”

Los Angeles, CA (Tuesday, December 18, 2007) Academy Award-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson; Harry Sloan, Chairman and CEO, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (MGM); Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne, Co-Chairmen and Co-CEOs of New Line Cinema have jointly announced today that they have entered into the following series of agreements:

* MGM and New Line will co-finance and co-distribute two films, “The Hobbit” and a sequel to “The Hobbit.” New Line will distribute in North America and MGM will distribute internationally.

* Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh will serve as Executive Producers of two films based on “The Hobbit.” New Line will manage the production of the films, which will be shot simultaneously.

* Peter Jackson and New Line have settled all litigation relating to the “Lord of the Rings” (LOTR) Trilogy.

As you can see there is no mention of who will direct or write the script - but just to know that PJ and Fran will be involved in-depth is a relief!

After dinner, we headed to the concert and found out it was cancelled. To cheer us up, we ended going to the Grove. While heading down to the escalator, we ran into Elijah Wood and Dominic Monaghan (leaving). Both were short and cute. LOL.

ETA: omg I think my brain just shorted out. Apparently the Grove is adjacent to the Farmer's Market in LA. Where Morena Baccarin mentions having run into Sean Maher in a recent interview. The thought of even the possibility of seeing Dom+Elijah+Sean at the same place...

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! Sean will be back, and also Morena - and *drum roll* Adam Baldwin! Now I hope no one will have to cancel due to work commitments... and that serenitysangel will get through early on Tuesday so we get our tickets - I have a feeling with Adam coming, they'll go like hot cakes! *crosses everything crossable and holds thumps tightly*

I got another Christmas card today, this one from dutch_eowyn. Thank you!!! *hugs* Btw I'm still wondering who sent me the two little parcels I got yesterday... :) And I'm afraid there's still no news about the parcels from serenitysangel and the Queen of Evil... *sob* Will definitely go check my PO Box again tomorrow morning!

However, I did get my 320 GB external harddisk from IOMEGA today, which I'd ordered at the beginning of this week - such quick delivery! This means that now I can finally do proper backups again and clear some much-needed space on my desktop computer and, whenever necessary, on my laptop! Well, as soon as I've actually installed it, that is. Probably won't happen until later tonight since I have to first prepare the dessert for our Christmas Eve dinner. I won't be able to do it on the 24th and don't have time tomorrow either... because in the afternoon I'm off to the airport to welcome ladysunrope, who's coming over for some much needed relaxation - squeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! This will be a wonderful slashy Christmas! :D
