And Bilbo is . . . Tom Cruise?

With MGM involved in financing “The Hobbit,” and Tom Cruise heading its United Artists division, its been a TORn staff hobby to joke about Tom Cruise playing Bilbo. Far fetched? Perhaps, but, he just flew to Wellington to meet with Peter Jackson. No joke.

I'll get around to them eventually - hopefully over the weekend. Today was the first time that I didn't wake up at 5am, yay! Still tired though. I really need to go through my pics and videos too. After 1 1/2 years of planning, tomorrow morning I'll finally be leaving for ~~Middle Earth~~ New Zealand! *bounce* The trip will be horribly long, but in London I'll join

yukiball for the Air NZ flight to Auckland via LA, so the company will help to make time pass quicker. And after we arrive in Auckland on the 25th, of course we'll meet up with the rest of the gang - whee! *bounce bounce*

Peter Jackson On Those Bilbo Rumours
Exclusive: No plans on casting yet

It's being rumoured here and here that the casting of Bilbo Baggins for The Hobbit may be announced at Comic-Con next week. Daniel Radcliffe, James McAvoy and David Tennant are all rumoured to be in the running for the role - but according to what Peter Jackson told us when we spoke to him recently, the fans shouldn't be holding their breath for a 'Con announcement.

"No, we won’t be announcing Bilbo for a little while," he said when we asked about a Comic-Con announcement. "We’re starting to think about casting, but we’re knee-deep in the script right now. And when we do go to actors, they’re probably going to ask to see a script, so we’re powering ahead with getting the first draft done.”

omg only tomorrow and then I'm off to The Land of the Long White Cloud!!!! *bounce* Will make a quick goodbye post tomorrow, now I need to sort through the clothes I have piled up and decide which ones to take and which ones to leave. :)

On the one hand: Goodness, it's only Tuesday, and only in the early afternoon?!

On the other hand: Holy crap, only one week and one day of work left before NZ!!!! o_O
I'm really glad I have my packing list ready - now I only need to finalise just which and how many clothes I exactly will take... and make sure that they're not still in the washing next Wednesday. :)
