Right, first of all here's a panel that Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss and Sue Vertue did for Nerd HQ after the official Sherlock panel. There are some references to ACD canon characters/events as relevant for S3, but no real spoilers otherwise:

Also, the titles of the three episodes have been confirmed: )

Then here's something from the official Sherlock panel that might disappear again - they showed a clip of S3E2! No video, but someone uploaded an audio recording of it to Youtube, and here is a transcript. For those spoiler-free who know which ACD story the S3E2 title was inspired by, you know about the new character and the significant event taking place in this clip, so you should be safe listening/reading. The scene is mostly John and Sherlock and just from the audio I can say OMGOMGOMG IT IS SO GOOD AND FUNNY AND AWWW AND I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS SCENE!!!!

When is it S3 airtime yet?!
ourdramaqueen: (lotr frodo fairer than most)
There's footage of the Hobbit panel at SDCC up on Youtube (thanks for the link, Prim!). Not sure how long it will be up as it's not an "official" video, or if TPTB will bother to have it removed, but watch it while you can! The footage that was shown is not included, but you get almost 24 minutes of the panel - including surprise guest Frodo Baggins! :)
ourdramaqueen: (nz there and back again)
ARGH! I was almost finished with putting together a Hobbit update post, when LJ suddenly sent me to the polls page - no idea how I landed there - and when I returned and hit "restore from saved draft", it went back to the version which only had the introductory sentences! So my apologies, but I will not redo the whole long thing again, and instead point you to the following sources which are currently covering The Hobbit at San Diego Comic Con:

TheOneRing.net as well as the Facebook Pages of Weta Workshop, Peter Jackson, and The Hobbit.
ourdramaqueen: (nz there and back again)
I better post these before my tabs are all clogged up again... which might still happen, with San Diego Comic Con starting soon. :)

First, the two most current and important ones from PJ himself: It's a Wrap and the exclusive Comic Con poster!

An Unexpected Party – NYC, Friday 14th October, 7pm. Ringers take Manhattan!

September 12th, 2011 by newsfrombree | Discuss | 0 Comments and 0 Reactions

Attention Tolkien fans in the New York City area! We are excited to announce that TheOneRing.net will be hosting an exclusive, private party in NYC on Friday October 14th, during the New York Comic-Con. Tickets for the event will go on sale in a couple of weeks; meanwhile, save the date and we hope you can join us in New York! For more information about the New York Comic-Con (NYCC) check out their official website. [NYCC]

Will have to see if I should/can go, once there is more info - though the tentatively planned Sherlock fan meetup will probably be on Friday too. Of course if this is only a party, I'm less interested than if they have some Hobbit panel or such as part of the event. We'll see. :)

ETA: OMG Mark Hamill is among the guests at NYCC! And Jewel Staite, though of course I got her autograph several times already. I have Mark's too - a gift from [livejournal.com profile] serenitysangel and the Queen of Evil, if I remember correctly :) - but it is always nice to get one in person. Ah, we'll see how things work out. Would be nice, but it's not a biggie if I don't get to go.
ourdramaqueen: (Sherlock squee)
My prompt at [livejournal.com profile] 221b_slash_fest (#4, if you're interested) was the first to be claimed - eeeeeeh! omg I'm so curious to see how it will turn out...

Also, chances are probably slim, but if they actually did manage to get Benedict Cumberbatch for the US premiere of Sherlock at New York Comic Con, I'd SO be there!

Right, now I'm really off to bed though... until soon! :)

You may already have heard about the Torchwood convention The Hub taking place Friday 17th - Sunday 19th of October 2008 at The Park Inn Hotel, Northampton. What's not on their website yet, but has just been confirmed on John's official Yahoogroup by his webmaster, is that John will be one of the guests! Which days he'll be there isn't certain yet, but I thought you'd like to know so you can keep an eye out for more info. :) Too bad that's shortly after RingCon!

Still have to watch the S2 finale... *gulp*
ourdramaqueen: (firefly inara thinking of you)
Hey [livejournal.com profile] serenitysangel - FedCon is getting better and better for you in regards to your harem: Kevin Sorbo was announced as a guest. :) Morena had to cancel, but you've met her a few times now. Should I hope they do or don't announce Sean Maher?

ETA: Since I haven't done any in a while, a meme I gakked from [livejournal.com profile] salwood:

You Know a Lot About Christmas

You got 5/10 correct

You know tons about the history and traditions surrounding Christmas.
When you celebrate the holidays, you never forget their true meaning - or all the little fun details.

Random Christmas fact: The average mall Santa is 5'9, 218 lbs, and 52 years old. The average waist size is 43 inches.

Now I'd like to know which questions I answered wrongly, and what the correct answers are.

WTF LJ?!

ourdramaqueen: (living til the end wtf)
What the *bleep* is up with LJ please, not loading pages or only after the gazillionth try?! This is the second time in a week, and no it's not IE (same in Firefox) or my internect connection (I can reach other websites just fine)!

*stab stabbity stab*

*takes deep breath*

Anyway - look what [livejournal.com profile] txvoodoo found!!! :D

More hi-res pics from yesterday's Joseph afterparty at the Sparklies Gallery - there's some Lee and Keith too, [livejournal.com profile] serenitysangel! ;)

*copies the text of this entry because the post probably won't go through until the gazillionth try* Gosh, on the first try! /sarcasm

ETA: Weta does Doctor Who collectibles!!!

ETA2: For those going to LFCC - there are now tickets available for Dom photo sessions on the Saturday! ETA: And Sunday!
ourdramaqueen: (dom precious)
Dom will be at LFCC in London on 2. September, while I'll be here, for the autograph session with John Howe and Alan Lee! I guess at least now there's hope that Dom will be doing more conventions again...
ourdramaqueen: (firefly simon swai)
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! Sean will be back, and also Morena - and *drum roll* Adam Baldwin! Now I hope no one will have to cancel due to work commitments... and that [livejournal.com profile] serenitysangel will get through early on Tuesday so we get our tickets - I have a feeling with Adam coming, they'll go like hot cakes! *crosses everything crossable and holds thumps tightly*

*bounces on the sofa, still squeeing*
ourdramaqueen: (lost poster)
I had forgotten that [livejournal.com profile] foxykc had posted about this on her LJ a couple of weeks ago - they had asked if they could advertise on the Lost-TV Forum. And it seems Celeb Events was formerly known as Jealous Events and has a bad rep, and was even cited negatively on a British consumer TV show. See details here.

I'll still ask Dawn, [livejournal.com profile] serenitysangel.
ourdramaqueen: (Default)
Whee, "Lord of the Rings": Popular Culture in Global Context has arrived!!! *bounce* The Contents look VERY interesting! I glanced at the "Tolkien Dirty" chapter briefly, and I'm afraid it only touches on fan fic (slash) a little (the Library of Moria is mentioned), it's mostly about porn films like "Lord of the G-Strings". I think I know what I'll be doing this weekend! :D

ETA: Oh sheeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!! Aaaaaaargh I would LOVE to do a Lost convention (and it's shortly before my birthday too, AND at the Thistle, which I know from Serenity Cubed), but I might go to Serenity: Infinity in September, depending on the guests... OMG who knows, they might even get Daniel... However, I've never heard of Celeb Events, does anyone know them, are they for real and good?
