If you are interested in RPGs or have friends who are, could you please spread the word about the Kickstarter (crowd sourcing) for [livejournal.com profile] caias' new game, Trigger Happy - the Role Playing Game of Action, Crime and a World Which Hates You! (Think The Shield, Transporter, Die Hard etc.) Backers can get a lot of cool stuff, relative to the size of their contribution.

Oh, and the editing on the promo video at the top of the page was done by Yours Truly. :)

Thanks a lot for helping spread the word!

It sounds very reminiscent of the good old days, but not in an outdated way. And apparently it's the #1 on the iTunes download charts in many countries, whee! :)

With Dom Monaghan (in great shape) and Megan Fox in the roles of Eminem and his ex-wife Kim. Great song, great video portraying the tug-o-war between love and hate in an abusive relationship. Check out the HD version if you have a fast internet connection and a fast computer with enough memory. :)

Whee!

Finally - a preview of the cover of Doug Adams' book "The Music of the Lord of the Rings Films". The dust jacket illustration by Alan Lee is of a very emotional moment in the films...

Can't wait to hear/see the full details! :D

Plus: TORn has posted some more LotR Archive clips, this time from the 2002 Oscars.

Happy Valentine's Day to those who are celebrating. I know most of you have probably already seen this video on your flist, but it is quite fitting for today, isn't it?

Almost everyone on my flist is doing it... and so am I. And yet I didn't turn out to be a sheep in the Cute Animal Test, but... *drum roll* )

I watched Doctor Who episode 2.12 "The Girl in the Fireplace" earlier. For the second time, the first time having been yesterday evening. (I've only seen very little of Seasons 1 and 2, am now caught up on Season 3 and BBC3 are starting on Season 4 tomorrow, so more catching up ahead, whee.) These kinds of stories make me really sad, and yet I'm a total sucker for them, particularly if they have something unconventional, which this one certainly does. :) What made me go look for a download in the first place )

Of course the downside of all this was that a) I went to bed a little later than I've been used to lately, and b) I had lots of weird, jumbled dreams which featured the Doctor and in particular various of his companions, which resulted in almost needing a crane to get me out of bed this morning. I guess I better go off soon to try and catch up on sleep a little.

Night night!

I can't even say this is my favourite Linkin Park song, because I love all of them so much, but it is currently the one from their latest album "Minutes to Midnight" that I'm listening to most often on my Zen.

Lyrics behind the cut )

Also very fitting because today I finally watched Torchwood 2.13 "Exit Wounds". Yeah I know - didn't get around to it back then for various reasons, and then sort of forgot about it. Oh and yes, I had read about the big spoilers and was a bit apprehensive to actually see them... I was very glad to find out cut for spoilers )
ourdramaqueen: (torchwood captain jack mischief)
I can't believe someone went and did this... a Captain Jack video set to "Papa Don't Preach" by Madonna. Yes, the song choice was very deliberate! *gigglefit* Contains scenes from Captain Jack's Doctor Who episodes and Torchwood up to 2.09 "Something Borrowed".

Watch at the above link or behind the cut: )

And for those who'd like to keep it, you can download it here. :D

Friends List of the Ring :D

ETA - for those interested, this just in from Yep Roc Records:

Heloise & the Savoir Faire's Trash, Rats and Microphones available for pre-order with bonus tracks
[Listen | Buy]

Pre-order Trash, Rats and Microphones at the Yep Roc Web Shop and receive the bonus track "I Think You Suck." The DRM-free MP3 will be be available in your Stash as soon as you place your order!

With a live show described by Disorder Magazine as a "multi-orgasmic experience with heels on," Heloise & The Savior Faire have gained popularity in the UK after making their TV debut on The Graham Norton Show. An electrified collision of late-70's disco-infused dance punk and 80's synth-pop, the band is fronted by the charismatic Heloise Williams and backed by two electrifying dancers (Joe Shepard and Sara Sweet Rabidoux) as well as a full band (James Bellizia on guitar, Luke Hughett on drums and Jason Diamond on bass). The Times UK has described them as "somewhere between Goldfrapp and The Scissor Sisters."

The album features guest vocals by Debbie Harry who recently called Heloise & The Savior Faire her favorite underground band in The New York Times Style Magazine. Harry is featured on the songs "Canadian Changs" and "Downtown.

Wooohooo!

Two interesting interviews:

1) John Barrowman in Scotland on Sunday

2) Ian McKellen in Factory Magazine - right at the end, he mentions he'd love to be in The Hobbit. Be sure to download the podcast, which has a little more than the print version.

Also, I was remiss in posting this link so far - TORn have a poll up in which you can choose who you'd like to direct The Hobbit - right now the three leads are:

Fran Walsh (38%, 1,250 Votes)
Guillermo del Toro (35%, 1,158 Votes)
Sam Raimi (22%, 731 Votes)

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] txvoodoo kindly provided a download of Dom's appearance on Craig Ferguson - you can find it here. omfg I couldn't believe that sketch at the beginning... ROTFLMAO!!! Is there any talk show appearance of Dom's that doesn't have any gay innuendo? *snort* But ooooh the highlight was definitely when he was handling these animals... particularly the snakes! "Anyone in the audience?" - if I had been there you'd SO have heard me scream, "ME! ME!" and could have watched me run down to the stage. :D GUH, Dom and snakes, an irresistible combination. I really do hope he'll get some animal/environmental show, that would be so great. Odd though that he didn't mention I Sell the Dead when Craig asked what he'd been doing! Plus: Screen caps courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] green_queen.

Is anyone willing and able to play post office for me for this item?! As you can see it's starring Sean Maher (with Brenda Bakke of American Gothic fame playing his mother) and only one episode was ever aired. I haven't been able to find it in any form so far, so I'm dying to get my hands on it - but the seller only ships to the US. I'd be extremely grateful if someone could assist me and let me give their address to the seller! I can reimburse cost of shipment to Switzerland by Amazon gift certificate or PayPal, whatever you prefer.

THANKS!!!

Aaaaaaaaargh how can I catch up on all the Elijah pics from last weekend etc. when more keep coming in?! I hope someone will provide a snaggable version of TRL - the pics sure look interesting! And isn't Elijah just glowing?! *happy sigh*

Buuuuuuuuut... I found some stuff about Wedding Wars on A&E! *bounce* Now there is this first page, but they have more material that is available for members of the A&E club only, but I have copy/pasted the Feature about it - behind the cut, beware of spoilers though nothing extreme:

Wedding Wars addresses a serious issue—gay marriage—with a smile )

There's also this tiny pic of the cast:

And [livejournal.com profile] liquidize kindly provided snaggable clips of the videos, which I'm mirroring here. Mild spoilers obviously:

Also, [livejournal.com profile] lilithlotr put up the clip of Craig receiving a birthday card from us at the Sunday autograph session. Isn't he cute?! And no he's not a new addition to my harem *grins at [livejournal.com profile] serenitysangel*, but I did get to like him a lot over the course of these three days. :)

Someone put a video on Youtube of Joss Whedon's speech when he was honoured by Equality Now last May. Watch it, it's great!

"Because you are still asking this question."

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] trianne for mentioning it! :D

And speaking of equality: Best wishes to Darren Hayes and his husband Richard! :D
ourdramaqueen: (joaquin the phoenix)
Hee, Michael Semanick worked on The Village! (Sound mixing - also LOTR)

M. Night Shyamalan wrote the role of Lucious Hunt especially for Joaquin! (Ahaha and Joaquin told him not to mention that, but he did anyway.) ♥

Totally cute story told by Bryce, about when the actors were in boot camp in a "living history museum" in Pennsylvania, to prepare for life in the 19th century: One day Joaquin, who she hadn't even spoken to so far, came up to her. He'd been wookdworking all day, and he said, "Um, Bryce, I... I made this for you..." and gave her a cane he'd made himself, and carved with "Ivy" - her character's name. And that was her introduction to Joaquin. She said he made her job very easy to fall in love with him. :)

Oh.My.God. They really should not be telling me stories like this...

*ahem* And there's a video on Youtube of Nora Jones singing "Home of the Blues" at the "Evening for Johnny Cash" event from last autumn, and in the background you can see Joaquin play the guitar - they only really show him late in the song, unfortunately, but you can see him sing along. :) Some screen caps are here.

[livejournal.com profile] salwood has posted some lovely "classic" pictures of Dom and Elijah in her LJ, and after adding a few that I capped from my C4 video in the comments, I thought I'd repost the video clip itself. For those who remember, it includes the "Titanic" moment. :) There's no sound but all you'd hear would be us fangirls laughing and screaming, so you're not missing anything. Erm sorry it's so shaky but I had to zoom like mad so every jitter shows up.

RIGHTCLICKSAVE and please COMMENT if you download, so I can keep an eye on my bandwidth. :) Also please do not redistribute, thanks.
