or I'd be totally freaked out at getting spam mail with the following subject:

Steve said they have a story about John Stamos' latest part playing a gay man.

(i.e., Wedding Wars)

I think I'll have to get used to the new LJ update page layout... *moves around gingerly*

AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!! What f***ing order are the icon thumbnails in?! It's not alphabetical by keywords, and it's certainly not in upload order - not even in the dropdown list!!! Do they think we all have time to do in-depth searches for a particular icon each time we post, particularly those of us with 100+ icons?!

*takes deep breath*

Short fuse? Who, me? No, I'm not in need of a long weekend at all, why do you ask?

Happier tidings... a gift I ordered for a certain someone has arrived today, and it's gorgeous, yay! I just pre-ordered the mixed meat for the Fondue Chinoise (aka Chinese Fondue) we'll have on Christmas Eve at my parents'. I'll have to go back though as for some unfathomable reason I told them we'd be 10 people instead of 9, duh! Also bought the last ingredients I'll need to make dessert for that night.

Ahaha I actually own "Rico Suave" on CD single... However, what sort of idiot is this guy?

But Joaquin Phoenix basically croaked his way around the screen as Mr. Johnny Cash - Que?! He did a fantastic job!

Word has it that Elijah Wood was just cast as Iggy Pop - "just cast" - boy, are you out of the loop!

On the health front, although my coughing fits are less frequent (my homeopathic medicine is working, yay, albeit slowly), they're still exhausting, and last night was the first time that I had coughing fits after lying down. I did sleep pretty well after i finally fell asleep, but I'm already sleepy again and it's not even 2:30 in the afternoon yet... Gosh, I wonder why the word "sleep" showed up three times in that last sentence? *yawns*

Ah well, soldier on and keep thinking of Sean in Wedding Wars... ;) TGIF tomorrow, and it will end with the office Christmas party!

Bugger!

How swell - another wireless router fried. A new one costs CHF 248 - I could use that money for other things, grrrrr! I have to find the bill/warranty for my current wireless router, if I'm lucky it's still within the warranty period but I'm guessing more likely it's just about over. So I guess there's nothing for it, as I will NOT be offline for longer than absolutely necessary! Particularly since last night I was suddenly disconnected from the network I was piggybacking on, and I wasn't able to connect to that one or the other unlocked one within my range anymore since then, on either the laptop or the desktop. *shakes fist*

I fended off the worst of a sore throat and cold over the weekend, but it still turned into a cough - and a very exhausting dry one too. No wonder with the dry winter air here. I don't know if it really is extremely dry right now or if it's just me being extremely sensitive, but I feel it in the night despite having a humidifier on in my bedroom, and the resulting cough after getting up is not fun. Might pass by the homeopathic chemist on the way home, as I think the tissue salt I need is one that's not in the basic set I have. Oh yes, and must buy water today - I'm on the last bottle!

In better news, some first reactions to Wedding Wars have been posted over on [livejournal.com profile] seanmaher, here, and so far it sounds quite good - eeeh, I can't wait to see it! Thanks again to [livejournal.com profile] noipeh for recording it for me!!! *huggles* *hopes the parcel won't get stuck in pre-Christmas mail traffic*

And guys - I love all your gifts!!! *huggles all and sundry*
ourdramaqueen: (sean maher smile fetish)
Got my first Christmas cards from [livejournal.com profile] ismenin and [livejournal.com profile] _doodle - thank you darlings!!! *huggles* I won't be able to send out "real" cards myself, due to being very busy, but I really appreciate the ones I get! There will be at least one virtual card from me though, sometime before Christmas.

[livejournal.com profile] forestrane - The Advocate has landed, thank you so much! :D Very interesting interview with John Stamos, and they even have a Wedding Wars picture featuring Sean, yay! Will have to scan that for [livejournal.com profile] seanmaher.

Right, back to work...

Scroll down to the "Short takes":

What if gay Americans went on strike to protest the fact they can't get married, leaving untold numbers of taste-impaired heterosexuals without queer-eyed counsel?

That's the premise of "Wedding Wars" (8 p.m. Monday, repeated at midnight Monday, 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday and 9 p.m. Saturday, A&E), an occasionally entertaining trifle starring John Stamos as a gay wedding planner who leaves his straight brother (Eric Dane, "Grey's Anatomy") in the lurch before the latter's elaborate wedding to the daughter (Bonnie Somerville, "NYPD Blue") of an anti-gay-marriage politician (James Brolin).

Stamos is as charming as ever, but the story is a stretch, even for a romantic comedy. By made-for-TV standards, though, the affectionate smooching between the main character and his cute boyfriend (Sean Maher, "Firefly") is gutsy.

Oh you're soooo funny... not! leaving untold numbers of taste-impaired heterosexuals without queer-eyed counsel? *rolls eyes* At least they mention Sean and even find him "cute".

ETA: From a PrideSource.com review:

"Wedding Wars" was shot in June, right before Stamos began shooting "ER." Plagued with yucky weather, Stamos was also fending off an acute case of bronchitis, which he dealt with through a good portion of filming. At one point, his illness yielded a trip to the hospital. The bug, though, was a blessing in disguise as it pushed him to be more vulnerable and express Shel's determined emotions more easily.

"He was a trooper," Meron says. "He just worked his bones off every single day."

Luckily, castmate Sean Maher, who plays his onscreen boyfriend Ted, didn't catch the cough from Stamos, who smooched him not once, but twice. And that's only onscreen. Behind the scenes, there were several takes of the lip-locks.

Meron recalls, "It happened over, and over, and over again."

Oh to be a witness of that... *ng* DVD extras, please! ;) (And I sure hope A&E will release this on DVD!)

The Wedding Wars site on A&E now has some content. Only one picture of Sean in the photo gallery - that's just not right!

10 days to go...

Another A&E Newsletter just landed in my inbox, pointing to some new Wedding Wars content in the A&E Insider section. See this comment by [livejournal.com profile] vampirefan on the [livejournal.com profile] seanmaher community if you aren't a member but want to go look at it yourself! :)

First, a slightly bigger version of the cast pic they had up last time I posted:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Doesn't Sean look gorgeous?! *drools*

Second, they have a list of Wedding Wars cast appearances on talk shows - no Sean unfortunately, but I guess we can hope for clips featuring him. Current schedule behind the cut )

I hope someone will record and upload these.

It looks like the clips they have up are still the same. In case someone missed my post last Wednesday - I'm mirroring downloadable versions here. There's also quizzes about Eric Dane and John Stamos, but who wants those? ;)

I do hope they'll soon put up those behind-the-scenes cast interviews (and there better be some Sean) they're promising on the movie's page!
ourdramaqueen: (sean maher smile fetish)
Aaaaaaaaargh how can I catch up on all the Elijah pics from last weekend etc. when more keep coming in?! I hope someone will provide a snaggable version of TRL - the pics sure look interesting! And isn't Elijah just glowing?! *happy sigh*

Buuuuuuuuut... I found some stuff about Wedding Wars on A&E! *bounce* Now there is this first page, but they have more material that is available for members of the A&E club only, but I have copy/pasted the Feature about it - behind the cut, beware of spoilers though nothing extreme:

Wedding Wars addresses a serious issue—gay marriage—with a smile )

There's also this tiny pic of the cast:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

And [livejournal.com profile] liquidize kindly provided snaggable clips of the videos, which I'm mirroring here. Mild spoilers obviously:

It looks like Sean actually has a decent size role, hooray!!!

Also, [livejournal.com profile] lilithlotr put up the clip of Craig receiving a birthday card from us at the Sunday autograph session. Isn't he cute?! And no he's not a new addition to my harem *grins at [livejournal.com profile] serenitysangel*, but I did get to like him a lot over the course of these three days. :)
ourdramaqueen: (sean maher)
Got all excited when I opened a newsletter mail from A&E just now - they have a first page up for Wedding Wars on their website! *bounce* In case you're going bzuh, it's that TV movie I talked about a while ago which stars John Stamos as a gay wedding planner, and Sean Maher as his boyfriend! *whimper*

*cough* Anyway, when you are a member of the A&E club (which is only possible for US residents, but who said I needed to give them my real address...? *cough*), you can get access to an interview with John Stamos where they talk about the movie a bit. Nothing about Sean, but I've copy/pasted the whole thing anyway, in case someone's interested/a John Stamos fan. I'll copy the WW relevant bits over to [livejournal.com profile] seanmaher.

A conversation with Wedding Wars star John Stamos )
ourdramaqueen: (sean maher)
Could someone in the US who has A&E on TV do me a HUGE favour and record a new movie of theirs called Wedding Wars (formerly Wedding March) for me on December 11th?! It stars John Stamos as a gay wedding planner and Sean Maher as his boyfriend... :) John was on Jimmy Kimmel on the 17th and said that's when it was going to air. And it seems he'll be in the Advocate because of this role... he says he's done a shoot for them. Need to keep an eye out for that!
