If you're interested in more pics from the recent charity performance of Ian McKellen, with the support of most of the main Hobbit cast, go here: McKellen and friends at the Opera House

For those wanting to join TORn for their Hobbit premiere tour: TORn’s own tour to New Zealand for “The Hobbit” premiere is now open for business, and also read this Quick update to the TORn Hobbit Premiere story

Primary filming for The Hobbit is nearly done?

Aaaand last but very much not least - lucky those who get to go to SD Comic Con! Obviously TORn will be there - The Comic con blitz from TORn has begun - but also some very familiar (or soon to be so) faces: ‘Hobbit’ lineup announced for Comic-Con includes Jackson, McKellen, Serkis, Armitage, Freeman, Boyens!!!
And if that's not enough reason to envy SDCC goers, this Hobbit-unrelated announcement will do it - certainly for fellow Browncoats: Entire Firefly Cast Will Reunite At Comic-Con For The Show’s 10-Year Anniversary. "The cast of FIREFLY will talk about the past, present and future of FIREFLY, 10 years after its debut. " Um, FUTURE?! I mean, there have been comics, but... could it be, after Joss' success with Avengers?! I don't dare hope...

Fans Launch "Help Nathan Fillion Buy 'Firefly'" Movement

Last week there was a brief furor over the Internet when Nathan Fillion did an interview with Entertainment Weekly--prompted by The Science Channel acquiring the rights to air Firefly on cable again--in which he reminisced on playing Malcolm Reynolds. Further, the Castle star said, "If I got $300 million from the California Lottery, the first thing I would do is buy the rights to Firefly, make it my own, and distribute it on the Internet."

Now, some especially fervent Browncoats are taking Fillion at his word and amassing support in the Help Nathan Buy Firefly campaign. [...]

More info at the link. Oh, and of course Sean Maher is among those who'd come back if Nathan were to succeed! :D

from Waitress starring Keri Russell and Nathan Fillion, as voiced-over by Keri:

Dear Baby,

I hope some day somebody wants to hold you for 20 minutes straight, and that's all they do. They don't pull away, they don't look at your face, they don't try to kiss you. All they do is wrap you up in their arms and hold on tight, without an ounce of selfishness to it.

I just now by chance happened upon an article on Hollywood Reporter from three weeks ago:

By Andrew Wallenstein

Spike.com has ordered shortform series "James Gunn's PG Porn," which brings together primetime TV stars and leading porn actresses for comic -- and platonic -- vignettes. Safran Digital Group produces and distributes in association with Good Boy Prods.

I immediately did a search on Spike.com and here's what I found: )

The show's main page is here - hope to see more soon. ;)

Net TV Review: Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog
Bottom Line: Arch hilarity from musical villain.

By Steve Bryant
Jul 16, 2008

Airdate: Premiered Tuesday, July 15, with two more acts on Thursday and Saturday (DrHorrible.com, Hulu.com, iTunes)

If "Fantastic Four's" Victor Von Doom was real, he'd have a YouTube account. That's where he'd record videos of himself shaking his fist as he described his plans to defeat that cursed Reed Richards and rule the world as Dr. Doom. It would be a lot like P. Diddy's blog, but slightly less egomaniacal.

That's the cultural departure point for "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog," the online-only (for now), three-part, 45-minute-long musical from Joss Whedon ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer") that stars Neil Patrick Harris as a nebbish supervillain.

If you haven't seen it yet - do go to http://www.drhorrible.com/ where the first two acts are online, and the third and last one is coming on Saturday (19th). Joss (and his brothers and the fiancée of one of them, who all developed it with him) REALLY is utterly crazy - hilariously so! Bless Neil, Nathan and Felicia for agreeing to do this - it must have been such fun to do! *giggle*

Night night!

Goodness!

Alyssa Milano circles ABC pilot
Nathan Fillion eyes lead in comedy 'Castle'

By Nellie Andreeva

April 25, 2008

Alyssa Milano and Nathan Fillion are in negotiations for the respective leads in two ABC pilots: the untitled Kristin Newman comedy and drama presentation "Castle."

[...]

"Castle," from ABC Studios, is a comedic procedural about a famous mystery novelist (Fillion) helping the NYPD solve crimes.

Fillion recurs on ABC's "Desperate Housewives" and recently wrapped the feature "Chilled in Miami."

Now if only Sean Maher would finally get another project...

[livejournal.com profile] greenie_breizh has posted her photos from Creation's Serenity Salute convention last weekend in LA at her photo LJ, [livejournal.com profile] holdlifestill. Guests were Nathan Fillion, Sean Maher, Alan Tudyk, Summer Glau, Morena Baccarin and Yan Feldman, and the pictures came out great! Don't miss the links to her full Photobucket galleries at the end of each entry. :D

Unfortunately it was very difficult to get decent pictures of Andy because he was constantly moving, so most of him are slightly blurry, but there are a couple of decent ones.

Two down, one more to go... :)

PS: I also put up the pictures from the event on 2. September 2007 with John Howe and Alan Lee in St-Ursanne, Switzerland here and from the (Green Street) Hooligans premiere (with a side of Joss Whedon and Nathan Fillion) at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2005 here.

In the tradition of great courtroom dramas, comes this gripping legal eagle...Rookie lawyer Alec Brno (Anson Mount, In Her Shoes) has just been assigned the case of his career: exposing a billion-dollar oil scam led by a ruthless mafia boss (Jake Weber, Dawn of the Dead). When he reluctantly falls for the gangster's beautiful but drug-addicted wife (Erica Leerhsen, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre)--also his key witness--Alec soon realizes that all the legal savvy in the world can't protect him from the dangerous reality of mob violence. In a system where criminals often walk free, sometimes courtroom warriors must take the battle for justice into their own hands.

Jake as the baddie????????!!!!!!!!! omfg!!!!! *drools* I don't care how good or bad it is, I'll have to get this! After Serenity: Infinity and RingCon... :)

Speaking of Jake playing the baddie, I guess I should watch the pilot of Law and Order: Criminal Intent again... he was so hot in that! *fans self*

ETA: Ahahaha Daniel Dae Kim plays the lawyer of Nathan Fillion's character on Miss Match! See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eU_I_kJJAY8 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBHW94rnQgM

February 2: WHITE NOISE sequel to bypass U.S. theaters

Fango got the word from a source who should know that WHITE NOISE: THE LIGHT, the sequel to the surprise-hit paranormal thriller of a couple of winters back, will be going straight to DVD in the U.S., bypassing initially planned theatrical play via Rogue Pictures. Universal Home Entertainment will release the disc, but no street date or supplemental details have yet been announced; we’ll keep you posted. The new WHITE NOISE, directed by Patrick (DRACULA 2000) Lussier from a Matt (PELTS) Venne script and starring SLiTHER’s Nathan Fillion as a man who is brought back from the brink of death with the ability to foresee who among the living will soon die, did make it to big screens in Britain last month (poster pictured here); click here to see the movie’s UK website. —Michael Gingold

Guess the UK got lucky this time! But at least it will be released on DVD.

Also, Dom's next film I Sell the Dead doesn't only have me excited because OMG new Dom!, but also because it features Ron Perlman and... Larry Fessenden! Who wrote and directed Wendigo with one of my long-time harem members, Jake Weber, and I also have Larry's previous two films in his "trilogy of horror" on DVD, No Telling and Habit, which I liked a lot. *should really watch all three again* Larry is a quirky guy, and I can imagine him and Dom play off each other well! Fangoria talked to Larry about the film:

Can't wait to hear and see more about this! I shall have to keep an eye on Larry's website too.

I finally got around to work on the Edinburgh pictures. Hope you'll enjoy them - some came out quite well, some of the Q&A are very dark but they looked interesting-ish so I included them anyway. :)
