$1 Million for a Cameo? Bloom Rumors (Monaghan Too)

January 11th, 2011 by xoanon 0 Comments and 1 Reaction

Orlando Bloomtimesofindia.indiatimes.com and other sources (possibly all from the same source) are reporting that Orlando Bloom has asked, and will receive $1 Million dollars for his 2 minute cameo in the Hobbit Films. While we cannot confirm or deny this bombastic rumor, it begs an interesting question, how much is a possible 2 minute cameo worth?

The same article also makes a throwaway note about Dominic Monaghan joining the cast, lazy reporting or actual scoop? You Decide. Take a look at the article in question here.

iF Magazine Chats with Howard Shore about ‘Hobbit’ and ‘LOTR’

In an IF Magazine interview with LOTR composer Howard Shore, the interviewer asks Howard Shore about his potential involvement with the upcoming ‘Hobbit’ films:

“iF: Do you hope to be scoring THE HOBBIT for Peter?

SHORE: Yes, of course. The book is wonderful and I’ve dreamed of writing music for it.”

Consider this reporter happy to hear Howard Shore is willing to participate - lets just hope things fall in place so it can become a reality. Thanks to Ringer David for the heads up on this story. [Read Complete Interview]

Consider this fan happy to hear that too! :D And of course if Saruman appears, then he has to be played by Christopher Lee:

Christopher Lee willing to return as Saruman?
February 5th, 2008 by xoanon

stormcrow20 writes: Popmatters has an article on the career of Christopher Lee. Relevant excerpt: Lee not only has impressive knowledge of golf and film, he also in something of an expert on the work of J.R.R. Tolkien.

“I remember first reading `The Lord of the Rings’ back in the 1950s,” Lee said. “I thought they would make great movies, but technically it couldn’t be done back then. I envisioned myself playing Gandolf (eventually played by Ian McKellen) but I did end up getting the part of Saruman.”

Noting that it was recently announced that Peter Jackson had agreed to film a couple of prequels about “The Hobbit,” Lee said he hoped that “Mr. Jackson” might found a place for him in those movies.

“I don’t know if that will happen but I would certainly be interested in doing it,” Lee said.

It would be surprising if Jackson couldn’t find a part for Christopher Lee, a man who has been a movie icon for more than 50 years and is still going strong. [Full Article]
