o_O

OK just noticed this at the end of Ebert's column:

And then there are the popular “audience pictures” here that are delightful, like Anthony Hopkins in “The World’s Fastest Indian,” and “Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride,” and Dakota Fanning in “Dreamer,” the story of a girl’s fierce trust in an injured horse, and Pierce Brosnan in “Matador,” and Aishwarya Rai in “Mistress of Spices,” which has all the depth of a romance novel but is essentially an entire film about her beauty, worth seeing for her beauty alone, and if you doubt me, go to see it and try to think about anything else.

THEY FILMED MISTRESS OF SPICES??????!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! LOVE the book!!!! Of course chances of it ever getting here are slim to none (except if it turns into a huge blockbuster) so damn I hope it won't take too long to come out on DVD! Oh gee look, the new guy from Lost, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, also has a role. :)

Aside: I'm probably the only one who doesn't find Aishwara Rai that breathtakingly beautiful - don't get me wrong, she is beautiful, but the most beautiful woman of the world? I'd choose Indira Varma over her anytime. Ah, to each their own, I guess. :)

*Reminder to self: make Indira Varma icon*

Indira Varma, absolutely yes.

And "new guy on Lost"? I need to catch up on news, I see!

LOL yes you do! He was signing at that recent Katrina fundraiser along with most of the season 1 regular cast. :)

I think both women are beautiful but I'm don't think I'd pick either as the most beautiful woman in the world. I'd have to do a lot more study....

No I wouldn't either, though I do think Indira is more beautiful - but Aishwarya was Miss World once, that's why I mentioned it. :)

Indira is in a film tonight on Channel 4 called Kama Sutra...with Naveen Andrews...

now I wonder what thats about? :)

[identity profile] ourdramaqueen.livejournal.com 2005-09-14 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL yes that's the one I discovered her in - I believe it was her first film role. She has VERY expressive eyes! I like it a lot, though I think many critics panned it.

Oh yes and that's where this icon is from - but the man is not Naveen, it's Ramon Tikaram. :)

omg its got Naveen AND Ramon in? BOTH OF THEM?????? *combusts*

(Ramon plays Rama in a religious video we use in school about Hinduism explaining the story of Rama and Sita -the children love the story and er...I love the erm...half naked blue painted gentleman )

[identity profile] ourdramaqueen.livejournal.com 2005-09-14 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
YES it has them both, as rivals! :)

Ooooooh I've seen pics of that!!!!!! Not sure if it was from that educational tape but it was him as Rama. Erm... any chance of somehow getting a copy of that tape?!

Hmmm if you enjoyed half naked Ramon, I think there's a few pictures I need to send you... ;)

Are you serious?
I fell in love with Naveen, watching that film a long time ago.
ODQ and I have discussed it at length in the past. ;)

Very very pretty, both men and Indira. Watch it!

*snigger* I think we may have done that, yes... :)

That reminds me, I've never been able to find out what exactly is missing from the British DVD that is on the American one...
