OK just noticed this at the end of Ebert's column:
And then there are the popular “audience pictures” here that are delightful, like Anthony Hopkins in “The World’s Fastest Indian,” and “Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride,” and Dakota Fanning in “Dreamer,” the story of a girl’s fierce trust in an injured horse, and Pierce Brosnan in “Matador,” and Aishwarya Rai in “Mistress of Spices,” which has all the depth of a romance novel but is essentially an entire film about her beauty, worth seeing for her beauty alone, and if you doubt me, go to see it and try to think about anything else.
THEY FILMED MISTRESS OF SPICES??????!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! LOVE the book!!!! Of course chances of it ever getting here are slim to none (except if it turns into a huge blockbuster) so damn I hope it won't take too long to come out on DVD! Oh gee look, the new guy from Lost, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, also has a role. :)
Aside: I'm probably the only one who doesn't find Aishwara Rai that breathtakingly beautiful - don't get me wrong, she is beautiful, but the most beautiful woman of the world? I'd choose Indira Varma over her anytime. Ah, to each their own, I guess. :)
*Reminder to self: make Indira Varma icon*
