Wanted: dedicated hosting recommendations!

Do any of you have recommendations for a dedicated server host that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? Preferrably easy to set up and maintain for dedicated hosting newbies. :)

I use jiffynet.net and I've never had any problems. I pay $36 per year (if memory serves) and I get more then enough space and bandwidth for my needs. It's never crashed, gone missing or given me any crap. *knocks on Elijah*

Good prices, but it seems they don't offer dedicated servers - which we need due to high and potentially quickly rising traffic... can't risk being shut down due to negatively influencing the availability of other websites on the same server! :/

I have to admit, I've only ever done shared hosting. I have so much space and bandwidth now, I wouldn't need my own server.

It's mostly a bandwidth/overpowering of server resources issue which makes a dedicated server necessary.

Hey hello - totally off-topic, and please ignore me if this is weird, but... I saw you at D_E's new Ring*Con comm and thought "I see you(r comments) all over the place, I always like what I see, our f-lists show so many mutual friends, why did we never meet?"

I guess my question is - would you mind getting to know each other/friending? Apart from the mutual friends, I'm thinking we could have some stuff in common? *cough*Elijah*cough*

see, we're gonna need about 1000 gigs a month and that stuff doesn't come cheap. Read the rest of the story on the thread. I have a local guy and we actually have some seed money.

I just don't want to be held hostage by some web designer I don't know.
