Wanted: dedicated hosting recommendations!

Do any of you have recommendations for a dedicated server host that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? Preferrably easy to set up and maintain for dedicated hosting newbies. :)

see, we're gonna need about 1000 gigs a month and that stuff doesn't come cheap. Read the rest of the story on the thread. I have a local guy and we actually have some seed money.

I just don't want to be held hostage by some web designer I don't know.

Yes well there's not cheap and there's ridiculously expensive... :)
