I can't access the main file repository on our craptastic webpublisher software, and of course the guy in IT who could help is at the congress center along with almost all the rest of his team, and I can't reach him on his mobile nor, for some reason, leave a message. I hope his colleague listens to his messages and can tell him to call me back asap. At least now that the annual courses are running, things are considerably slower than they were in the weeks leading up to them. But that doesn't mean I don't have better things to do than sit around and shuffle random work files/emails, surf around, read my private email and twiddle my thumbs until I leave for the congress center late this afternoon... And no, I don't really have stuff I can do outside the webpublisher. *sigh*

Tomorrow we'll see the first prototype of the new webpublisher software, which is being tailor-made for us, and should be finished by March 09. It can't be spring soon enough...

Maybe you can read some good fic, or do all your christmas shopping online? Watch youtube clips?

Technology is great, but it sucks when it doesn't work. And sometimes it's baffling, with mobile phones and email and everything, how hard it can be to get a hold of someone! But, this afternoon will pass as well. :)

Youtube and similar are a bit difficult because I'm not alone in the office and don't have earphones. Have done all the Christmas shopping I can already, done some online shopping for myself just now, haven't got any bookmarks for fics and sadly over the past few months lost track of the series/authors I was reading anyway. Oh yes and for some reason Gmail isn't showing me the new messages from my ODQ account since sometime late this morning. I wanted to set up a Google Calendar and created an ODQ account for it, but of course now I can't access the account activation email due to aforementioned Gmail problem - my ODQ domain and therefore webmail are blocked by the company firewall.

Well the IT people are often busy in the various course rooms so there's quite a lot of time when they can't take calls, but why I can't even leave a message on IT guy's mobile, I don't know.

That it will! And I'll have to leave for the Congress Center in about 2 hours.
