I caught the end of the Doctor Who Confidential Special by chance, hadn't heard about it but then no surprise since it was only announced yesterday I believe?

Anyway, we have a new Doctor.

Don't know this guy at all so I'm curious to see him in character - in 2010. Too funny that he's been in several projects with Billie Piper. Here's some more info about him, plus an interview clip, which of course people like me living outside the UK can't watch.

Have caught up on Series 1 over Christmas and while I liked Nine well enough, I can definitely say I'm a Ten girl, so I'm looking forward to the four Specials in 2009, although with a weeping eye because they'll be the last with David Tennant. :)

Yes it was who the ?? he looks like a cross between David Tennant and the Twilight guy. I wish he looked not so like Tennant - it's going to be strange. It's amazing that it never leaked. That could be why the announcement came at short notice, because the name couldn't stay secret for long.

LOL yes, that's probably the reason for the short notice. I don't think hee looks too much like David. Curious to see him...

Can't say I'm pleased about the 11th. When I saw him on Confidential, I was WTF! Seriously? Bleh! The youngest Doctor ever. Just not sure at all about him. Shall have to wait and see how he pans out in 2010. For me, I guess I'm just mostly upset because of Tennant leaving. I've loved his Doctor and David and Dr Who is not going to be the same without him and Russell T Davis.

Well, because he's young and not well known yet doesn't necessarily mean he won't make a good Doctor - so yes, it's wait and see. Too bad about David though, and yes, I'm sure some things will change with Russell gone!

No, he might be okay, just at the moment until he proves himself, I'm not impressed especially since having seen him in something else. Oh well... I'm personally more concerned about Russell not being a part of the show.
