serenitysangel is having a promotional campaign on her LJ, and I thought that was a very good idea indeed so I'm joining in! I'm afraid I'll have to bug you about this a couple more times until late October/early November... ;)
So, some of you noticed me squeeing about this in July/August: one of the best TV series ever,
American Gothic, will finally - 10 years after its first and last season started on CBS - be released on DVD on 25th October 2005! The suits at CBS changed shortly after the series was ordered, and the new PTB didn't get it at all, started messing with the content, the cast, the order of episodes, the schedule, and didn't even show some episodes at all, before predictably cancelling the series. However, AG had found a loyal following, and it was shown several times on Sci-Fi, including the never-aired episodes, and in the originally intended order. For years us Gothniks have been petitioning for CBS/Universal/NBC-Uni to release it on DVD - and now it's finally happening!
Of course we want and NEED this to be a success - so please please please if you are at all interested in fantasy/sci-fi/mysteries like Twin Peaks, X-Files, Lost etc., if you like stories set in the South, if you're a fan of any of the following people: Shaun Cassidy, Sam Raimi, Brenda Bakke, Lucas Black, Gary Cole, John Mese, Sarah Paulson, Nick Searcy, Paige Turco, Jake Weber, and/or recurring/guest stars Michael Burgess, Bruce Campbell, Lynda Clark, Matt Craven, Christopher Fennell, Pat Hingle, Tina Lifford, Danny Masterson, Jeff Perry, Ted Raimi, Steve Rankin, Sonny Shroyer, Alex Van, Arnold Vosloo, Brigid Walsh (now Brigid Brannagh), Muse Watson, Evan Rachel Wood, N'Bushe Wright -
please get the DVD set! If you can't buy it or aren't sure if you would like it, rent it first. Help us Gothniks show CBS just how big an error it was to cancel the show, and that it was the right decision to put it out on DVD! Do it for me, if nothing else! *gives
you puppy dog look* I may not be able to provide porn on request, but I'm not ashamed to bribe you with chocolate if necessary! ;)
