The 8-days Meme:
The rules are that for 8 days you have to post something that made you happy that day. Tag 8 people to do the same.

Not tagging anyone, but I hope some of you guys will pick this up - I think in these dark times (literally and at least for some, also metaphorically) it makes a lot of sense to remember the good things in life. :)

For yesterday: Well certainly the announcement of Daniel Dae Kim doing The King and I in London as a birthday gift for me next year! ;D

Today: Errr... well I guess the documentary about a archeologists in the UK reconstructing Stonehenge (not all on his own, of course) some distance from the original location counts. This kind of stuff will never stop fascinating me!

For those of you in the UK and the US who'd like to see Fellowship of the Ring performed live to the film being shown on the big screen, there will be performances at the London Royal Albert Hall in mid April and at the New York Radio City Music Hall in October. Both are performed by regional Choirs together with the orchestra and conductor who originally performed in Lucerne, Switzerland: the 21st Century Orchestra and Ludwig Wicki. Do go listen to it, it's a unique experience!

Oh and Doug Adams, author of booklets in the Complete Recordings of the three LotR soundtracks and the upcoming "The Music of the LotR films" book, posted a Youtube clip on his blog of some moments from one of the Lucerne performances - not the concert itself, but you can see the (very impressive) venue there and also the reaction of the crowd, and a bit from the signing after the concert.
