But I just took a look at the website of the New Pantheon Awards, and they not only list all Nominators (aka the jury), but also you can click on each Nominator's name to see all their nominations listed. On Elijah's page, you may notice some obscure band called Gogol Bordello... now where have I heard of them before? ;) And if I'm not mistaken, dutch_eowyn might be interested in the first band on his list. :)


Unique to any award which has come before, the award is decided by a specially selected Panel of respected musical figures (the 'Nominators').

Heh. Is it silly to feel proud of our boy for making that list? :D

Thank you for the link! For some reason it inspired me to listen to Icelandic music. :) I really hope Elijah gets the chance to listen to some of the Icelandic bands out there, because I think he'd definitely like their music.

LOL I'm glad to please. :) Didn't he or Dom mention Sigur Ros at some point? I think that's how I heard of them... so I'm sure he knows other Icelandic bands too.

Ahahahahahahahah!! You remember that special with Dom and Billy walking around Wellington, where Dom rips the tape of Billy's chest, and Billy says they're 'togethah, but not like that'? They're in a cd-store at one point, and Billy holds up that Sigur Ros cd with the blue sleeve, and he says that Dom recommended it 'It's Icelandic. They play the noseflute; a very difficult instrument to master.'
And there's an interview with Dom (for a mag, no clip available of that one) where Dom is asked which are the last cd's he's bought and he mentions buying the latest Sigur Ros (the one with the white sleeve) and the latest Coldplay (their second one).

Oh yeah! I've been to the concert of Dungen last Thursday :D They're very nice, I like them a lot. It was such a lovely concert, very small venue, small crowd. When the band was on stage, they were waiting for the bassplayer, who had to come from the back of the room because they'd been hanging around while the support act was on. The support act hung around, drinking beer and smoking joints, while Dungen played. They're cool guys, and sometimes played like they were mostly jamming away among themselves, having a great time together, but practically forgetting they had an audience: 'I hope we don't bore you too much...' they asked after playing a particularly long extended version of one of their songs.

LOL - seems that you at least weren't bored then. (And no this isn't coming in late, I'm catching up...)

By the way - I kept wanting to mention that I now finally know Mandu (o?) Diao! There's that one song that they keep playing up and down the radio here, and I've seen the video on MTV and Viva too. Of course I can't remember the title, but it sounds great. I really should check out their CD. :)
