After the 10am news the radio DJ said something about "George Michael and (or?) Johnny Cash" but I missed what it was about. It probably was just a listing of a few artists they'd play that hour, as a bit later they played Johnny's version of "Won't Back Down". (Note to self: add the CD of his Folsom prison concert to Amazon Wishlist.)

Speaking of... I saw The Village and while yes I guessed all three twists, I liked it. Except for the utter lack of Joaquin in the second half of the film, hrmpf. But Bryce Dallas Howard was good (and my but couldn't she be the twin sister of Christina Hendricks who played Saffron-Bridget-whatshername in Firefly) as the blind Ivy. My favourite scene is when the Creature enters the village and Ivy refuses to go in because Lucious (ahaha I wrote Luscious - Freudian slip or what?!) is still out there, and she just stands in the open door holding out her hand for him despite being terrified, and just before the Creature reaches her Luscious grabs her hand and runs inside with her. I thought that scene was wonderfully shot. And of course the scene on the porch is lovely too. Yes I'm a big ol' sap sometimes. :)

Zapped into an episode of Witchblade last night while doing some boring work stuff (Yes, at home. Yes, after 11pm. I had started earlier but took it leisurely and also had to take breaks - see boring.) and they used "Cry Little Sister" several times throughout the episode - but by far not as good a version as in Lost Boys. Oh and at the end of the episode they had Youssou N'Dour and Peter Gabriel's "Shaking the Tree" - erm, rather bizarre as that song is about a pretty specific subject which I really don't think had anything to do with the episode. Guess they just liked the sound of it.

I love the Spar which is halfway between work and home, as they have Cheddar cheese. I LOVE Cheddar cheese, and I've never seen it at any of the other grocery stores here! As it is it was only recently that I happened to notice it at the Spar. Yummy! Oh and their hoisin sauce is better than the one from the Migros which I'd previously used. Tried it out for the first time last week when making chicken stir fry ([livejournal.com profile] serenitysangel's recipe) and it tastes... well, smoother, for lack of a better word in my vocabulary.

Wanted to add a work update/rant but it came out all jumbled, so scrap that. For now at least. I'm sure I'll have reason to post something many more times yet...

Oh yeah, and could it just stop snowing and get warm and turn to spring already, kthx!

Have I bored you enough for today?

ETA: Ahahaah just leafed through the Forbidden Planet catalogue that was in the mail and they have a Johnny Cash figure! :D

You are never boring, my love, not like some. And I agree abt The Village. It was obvious why they had to send a blind girl, wasn't it? And Quin was fab. Understated and perfect as Luscious...er, Lucius... :D

*Sobs. Wants new pic of the DomLijah together. Ah, Die alten Zeiten. More sobs*

LOL well I see no one present who's boring! *cuddles* Yes he sure was. *sighs* I'm slowly catching up on his projects, he really is good.

Agree with Issi. I know quite a few people are all up in arms about it because they say you can spot the plot twists a mile away, but I thought it's still a good movie, with good actors.

I enjoyed the feel of The Village but in the end it annoyed me because of silly plot twists and egregious lack of Joaquin in last half of movie. Egregious.

I didn't find them so much silly as... well, just not that surprising. But agree on the egregious lack of Joaq!!!

enjoyed the Village, but yeah M Knight Shamalayan's twists not such great twists as everyone things they are. And LOL yes I guess Ivy did look a YoSafBridge look-alike :D
