Cause I haven't participated in any in a while. This one comes courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] patsie. :)

Ask me 3 questions and I will reply with the answers. The catch is that the 3 questions must start with the following verbage:

1) When did you...?
2) What do you think of...?
3) Have you ever...?

*waits with bated breath for your questions*

I'll bite!

1) When did you decide you liked Elijah Wood?
2) What do you think of when you are going to sleep at night?
3) Have you ever regretted getting so involved in a fandom?

1) I guess that was after the first viewing of FOTR (the EE DVD)! All right, I guess I should say that was when I decided I liked (film) Frodo, because incredibly enough this was the first time I saw him. As for Elijah himself... hmmm difficult to say, I guess watching the documentaries and listening to the commentaries would have cemented it already, and with every interview I read/saw and report I heard about him, I only liked him more.
2) Oh dear - whatever is going through my head or of particular concern to me right then - a review of the past day, fretting about this or that, making plans for something or other, fantasising...
3) Hell no! It's tons of fun, and I've made lots of new friends from all over the world! It can be very time consuming and distracting sometimes *blush*, and there were some not so pleasant times, but it's all good in the end. I wouldn't want to miss this. :D

I can identify with your liking of Frodo first and then Elijah. For a while there the two merged but not now.

When did you first start a live journal and why?
What do you think of England?
Have you ever watched all 3 LOTR fims one after the other?

1) I started it... *checks info* 2003-06-27 09:25:39. :) At first mostly because it made it much easier to follow the LJs of the authors, artists and deliverers of fandomish goodies (mostly LOTR related), so at the beginning I lurked a lot, but then gradually started posting more regularly.
2) I LOVE England! In fact I plan to emigrate in a few years! :) The first time I was there was in 1992 for a 12-week language course in Brighton that started in late September and ended mid December. We had one week of sunshine and then basically continuously bad weather for the rest, and the family my friend and I stayed with was a bit strange so we didn't really feel at home with them. But still I loved it. I just seem to have a special connection to England. Maybe I lived there in a past life!
3) In fact I did - I was at the trilogy screening at the London IMAX in November 2004, together with [livejournal.com profile] ismenin, [livejournal.com profile] pattilovesviggo, [livejournal.com profile] ladysunrope and [livejournal.com profile] lips_and_rouge. It was fantastic, and I'd do it again if I could, even though it is tiring! I have on occasion also watched the extended DVDs more or less in a row over however long it took me - including all commentaries and extras. :)

1) When did you start liking Joaquin Phoenix?
2) What do you think of our English roads?
3) Have you ever wondered who might have played Frodo if Elijah hadn’t made that video?

1) I happened to zap into Quills on TV... oh boy, how long ago? Not that long actually, maybe two years now. It was dubbed I believe, but I liked it, and Joaquin. I had seen him in Gladiator before that, but hadn't taken a lot of notice of him then, though I found the movie OK (but not great). So, I'd seen Quills once. My liking didn't develop into a full obsession though until [livejournal.com profile] baranduin started to wax lyrical about it, and I suddenly had a craving to see it again, so I got it and finally got to watch it in the original, and liked it - and Joaquin - even more. And this was around the time when Walk the Line was out - it already had been released in the US, but not reached us here I believe. I got hold of a not-really-legal version... and that was it, he completely blew me away with the way he just disappeared into the role of Johnny Cash. And then of course I saw interviews etc., which made me like him eve more because omg he's so adorable and quirky and sometimes downright strange! :)
2) I'm often surprised at how narrow some of the much-used roads are, compared to Switzerland. I'm not sure if that's just my impression or if it's true though. :)
3) Wondered yes, but I just literally can't imagine anyone! I know Tobey Maguire is sometimes brought up, but eh...

1] I have to agree he is facinating to watch and was brilliant as Johnny Cash.
2] I have to say that I'm fed up with never being able to get anywhere on time these days because of the MANY roadwork delays and accidents which cause the police to simply shut a road without warning! Very irritating.
3] I don't know who I would have chosen either but it is an intriguing thought!

Ah yes, roadworks... I don't drive myself and even when being driven didn't happen upon them a lot, thank goodness. Got into thick traffic on the Devil's Carpark going around London, but never a total standstill for hours, thank goodness.

1) When did you graduate high school?
2) What do you think of yaoi?
3) Have you ever played naked twister?

1) We don't have high school but I graduated secondary school in 1989. (Is "graduate" even the correct word when there aren't any final exams?)
2) I'm not a particular fan of manga so I've not really delved into yaoi either. I think part of the lack of interest is that it's so stylised - I prefer a more "organic" style. *points to icon* (And don't get me started on the teenage brat drama queens with superpowers in mangas...)
3) I haven't even played un-naked twister! :)

I guess we don't have 'high schools' here either, but we do have final exams. I guess I should have said 'finished.' :) BTW, I graduated in 1988.

Oh no, I don't like those either! Most yaoi comics are about 'normal' people - except that they're all gay, and good looking, and they have sex a lot of the time. ;D I love Elfquest too, by the way, though my collection only goes up to part 30, or something. I love the way it's drawn.

3) I haven't even played un-naked twister! :)

I think I've played twister at a birthday party as a kid once or twice, but definitely no drunken, naked twister either. :D

1) 1988? You must have stayed in school longer than me then. I did an apprenticeship afterwards, which ended in 1992. And that one I definitely graduated. :)

2) Yes, I've seen some yaoi scans but they didn't strike me as particularly hot. Maybe I just saw the wrong ones, LOL. And still - a bit too stylised. Elfquest is gorgeous, isn't it?! I need to try and get the new ones.
