I have lots of entries from the last few days tabbed to comment on - just been a bit distracted by Real Life stuff, plus on Friday book 2 of Lynn Flewelling's Nightrunner series arrived and I've been tearing through it since yesterday... it seems for a lot of the time, certainly from a couple of chapters in, I've been holding my breath or gnawing on my fingernails! Will post more about it once I finished it, which will no doubt be very soon! [livejournal.com profile] forestrane and [livejournal.com profile] mtngoat, have you finished yet? And [livejournal.com profile] samena, I'm ever so grateful that you pointed these books out to me! Now I only need to get book three. And I hope that the wait for the fourth and fifth books won't be too long...

In other news (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] baranduin for pointing this out): Joaquin and band recording an album???!!! *THUD*

Right. Off to readbed now.

[livejournal.com profile] mtngoat's already 3/4's the way through book three. I'm just starting Chapter 10 of book two. If I hadn't just worked six 10-14 days in a row as well as 3 hours this morning, I'd be done with it by now. I can't seem to put it down.

I too, am very glad [livejournal.com profile] samena recommended them to you. You can thank her for us too.

How's your sis doing? Hope she's running around the hospital today, if they haven't already sent her home.

You didn't mention how your sister is doing, is she out of hospital yet?

I'm exposing my ignorance, I've noticed you and several others posting about this series of books, but I've not figured out what they are about. Is it science fiction/fantasy, horror?

I'm exposing my ignorance

Not at all. I had never heard about the series myself and it was written 10 years ago. This all came about because of [livejournal.com profile] ourdramaqueen's post - http://ourdramaqueen.livejournal.com/393474.html - which, in itself didn't say much about the books, but ODQ posted a description of the books in her reply to my comment on that entry. It's a fanstasy series with two young men as the main characters.

I'm always in search of new fantasy/sci fi authors, and I am very pleased with these books. And, book two is even better than book one.

Thank you thank you! School is out on Thursday, and I'll be looking out for new books to read poolside. Especially fantasy series!

Have you ever read any of the David Eddings? (And I don't mean his recent series he wrote with his wife. I didn't like it at all)

The Tanya Huff Blood books are good too. They are what the Lifetime show Blood Ties is based on.

The blood books are next on my reading list - though I think I'll have to get Nightrunner book 3 first... :)

I see [livejournal.com profile] forestrane filled you in already. This series is seriously good!!! Book 2 will have you breathless for a good part of it!

Oops yes, sorry, she's out of hospital. I thought I'd posted... *blush* Will updated in a moment.

You're most welcome. You can also thank [livejournal.com profile] airgiodslv, because she's the person who recommended the books to me. ;)

I can't seem to put it down.

Tell me about it!!! I just finished book 2. Oh.My.God. It only gets better - or worse, depending on your point of view...

Oh rats, didn't I post that she came home Saturday? Will have to remedy that, thanks for pointing that out!

I just finished book 2. Fabulous. I don't dare start book 3 or I won't get to bed.

I finished it yesterday evening - omgomgomg!!! Oh, Seregil... I need to make a post with some thoughts about it, so we can discuss a bit more in detail!

Well, I'll have to wait a while for book 3 - Amazon Germany has it but with a 2-3 week delivery delay. ARGH! However I hope that maybe they'll have it earlier - it's happened before. I guess I'll wait a day or two and then decide whether I should try and get it through Amazon UK or US instead... :)

So glad you're liking it! Though I sort of knew you would. If you're holding your breath now, wait till you get to the last 200 pages, or so. It all accelerates there, and doesn't stop until the end. You're dragged along, and it's just amazing, though also frightening at times. It's hard to describe. You'll see what I mean. :)

Oh.My.God. Just finished book 2. Oh.My.God. I think I need to recover a bit before I post about it...

You just finished! Isn't the last part totally fantastic?! In a nailbiting sort of way? Now you know what I meant. It just makes you go: wow...

I just finished it. I didn't do anything for the last 300 pages except slap together the quickest dinner I could find without having to leave the house. It was great. I just don't recommend cutting vegies while trying to read. I haven't read a book that grabbed me like that since HP6.

I don't think [livejournal.com profile] mtngoat minded eating left over chicken and salad, since she was busy finishing book three and probably didn't even taste her food any more than I did.
