A thought-provoking article from the Guardian:

My plea to fellow Muslims: you must renounce terror

As the bombers return to Britain, Hassan Butt, who was once a member of radical group Al-Muhajiroun, raising funds for extremists and calling for attacks on British citizens, explains why he was wrong

I would be interested to hear why Hassan Butt turned away from extremism.

One can only hope that it's because he saw reason and that it's better to co-exist peacefully, come to some kind of terms with Islamic religion and the way of the Western world. And that violence isn't going to gain anything but hatred for those who perpetrate it. The more important question to ask is, if someone like Hassan can suddenly turn away from extremism, can others too?
Very interesting article!

Obviously he did - but what caused that change of mind? And I certainly hope he can convince others of the wrongness of their way of thinking!

Who knows what actually changed his mind.Maybe he just finally realised violence and killing isn't the way to go about things. I guess, in this case, we shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth and just be grateful that he did change his mind and that hopefully others will follow suit.
