Just taking a quick break from reading "Shadows Return" to go make myself some tea, and post the results to two "Which character are you?" memes I took. In the first one with Lotr characters I got Frodo, and in the second one with characters from several Fantasy/Sci-Fi franchises I got Gandalf:

Finished chapter 19 of "Shadows Return" - and oh there are two characters I'd like to punish. Slowly. Painfully. A lot. For a long time. Lynn is very cruel to Alec and Seregil! Eeep! Don't expect to hear much from me for the next day or so, despite being on holiday! *goes off to make tea so she can get back to devouring SR*

That looks like the quiz I did ages ago and have been meaning to do again sometime. Thanks for the reminder. I was Raistlin, so we're keeping it on the wizard side it seems. Dragonlance books if you never heard of him otherwise. I eventually kickass an actual god, too, if Raistlin, so I think I beat you there. ;) Gotta try the LOTR one once I'm a bit more done with the westerosorting application, and actually reading the first book, too.

I don't recall you saying who Shadows Return was by, so... Who wrote it? Doesn't sound like the Shadows from Babylon 5, so fantasy, is it?

It's book 4 in the "Nightrunner" series by Lynn Flewelling, and yes, it's fantasy.

But not that other one, right? The one I was so enthusiastic about to see in this book? I think it's fair to say he got what was coming to him, and then some.

Yes, that one too, when we find out that he is responsible for most of this. I can't say I hate him, because there's a good deal of pity mixed in, but he did bring it on himself. I do wonder if he'll be in book 5...? :D
