Just watched Terminator and T2, which I recently got on DVD. They're still as good as I remembered them to be - it's been quite a while since I last saw either of them. I still ♥ Michael Biehn... It's so great that for the Ultimate Edition DVD, they put the cut scene back in T2 where Sarah dreams of him while in the sanatorium! Some of the tricks they used look quite obvious by now but still, they're both well done with a nice sense of (dark) humour. The story is gripping and the action well done, but not over-done. To turn the villain of film one into the hero of film two was such a brilliant move! Linda Hamilton is very convincing in both films - Sarah's transformation is just incredibly well done - and Edward Furlong was great in T2. Oh and Robert Patrick as the T-100 too of course. I still shiver at how realistic the nuclear explosions look in Sarah's dreams... *shivers* And I don't think the end of T2 will ever not touch me. *happy sigh*

Now T3: Rise of the Machines isn't half as good - I can't even remember what the plot was - and omg I SO won't bother with the fourth one which will come to cinemas next year. I felt T3 is to T1 and T2 like a Terminator compared to a human... no heart and soul, no warmth, just one purpose: to squeeze more money out of the franchise. Therefore I don't expect any more from T4. Bleh, such a shame.

At least it seems the TV series is good, from what little I've heard about it?

I agree with everything you said here. I loved the first two movies because they did both have a heart and soul. I tried to watch T-3 but it didn't capture my interest at all, so I gave up, and I have the feeling 4 won't be any better.

Well, it might be better, but yeah...

I've always loved the first Terminator film. And yes, Michael Biehn! :) The second one was good too. Must see if I can find the extended edition. Have never seen that particular scene. And Robert Patrick is deliciously creepy. Much creepier than Arnold. *g*

I did like T3 - but mostly because I like Nick Stahl (yum yum) and Claire Danes. The last part of the film was a bit weird. Added coolness that we saw the terminator chick for real at C4, don't you agree? :)

I didn't even know they were making a 4th Terminator movie, but apparently Christian Bale is in it? If he's not in jail?

This was the first time I saw that scene too. It's nice. :) Yeah, Robert was wonderfully creepy!

LOL yes he is - I'm not sure how far they are with production, I thought I'd seen a picture of him as John Connor, but am not sure.

T1 will always be my favourite.

T3...was a disappointment.

But I am curious about T4, saw the trailer the other day and it looks interesting. I like Christian Bale, so who knows. I shan't judge until I've seen it.

I enjoy the TV series. But that's mostly because Summer is kick ass in it.

If I hear good things about it from others I might take a look at it, but if not... *shrugs*

I should give the series a try because I'd like to see Summer in a different role, but then again I have so many downloads I still have to watch... :)
