Underworld: Rise of the Lycans review

Goodness, I had completely forgotten that it opened in the US a week ago already! According to Hollywood Reporter, it opened in the #2 spot - whoa! So I guess since no one on my flist has mentioned it, that means no one has seen it yet? I'm curious to hear how big Craig's Parker's role is, and if Michael Sheen is still as sexy as Lucian. ;D

Variety has a review up which makes it sound pretty good. I do wonder what version of the first two films the reviewer saw though: [...] Sheen is robustly dynamic as Lucian, a character portrayed as an arch-villain in the earlier “Underworld” pics. Arch-villain?! *scratches head* But ahaha - doesn't the following sound familiar strawberryelfsp?! [...]and Sheen hits all the right notes in a star-powered performance that will amuse, if not amaze, anyone who only knows the actor as Tony Blair or David Frost. :D

I haven't been able to see it yet, but the reviews I've read have been pretty good. Cheesy script, genre action, but a fun movie with good acting. Maybe I'll go see it when I get my tax refund. \o/

Yeah I might have to go to Zurich sometime after it opens here - if it plays here in town at all, it will be dubbed anyway, and I just can't do that to myself! *shudder*

It's so expensive to go to the theater here! Tickets are $10 now, and snacks are like $5 each. I wait for the DVD of just about everything now.

Yeah, it's no cheaper here - more expensive rather, if I remember correctly! But I still have a cinema gift voucher valid for one ticket, which I got from my former coworkers when I left the previous job. It's valid until the end of this year, so I better use it!
