I've disabled the option to share my posts/comments on Twitter/Facebook, using this solution by [livejournal.com profile] rabidsamfan. Like what seems to be the majority of my flist, I do not appreciate the possibility of my flocked content being linked. I'm sure none of you would dream to do that, but better safe(r) than sorry!

FYI, since I view your LJ in my style, I can still see those Twitter/Facebook ticky boxes below the box when I comment here. It's only when I look at it in your style that they are gone.

Er, now that I'm looking at it in your style, I can *still* see the Twitter/Facebook tick boxes.

Hmm strange, in comments I see them too now, when before I didn't...

I know that if people who haven't disabled this thing view my LJ in their style, they still appear, but in my style they definitely shouldn't - or they should appear deactivated at least. Argh!

Maybe it can be that it doesn't work in your layout style?? I used the same solution and at least I got rid of the boxes myself in my journal and in many others.

Yeah that's well possible. LJ is adapting this though, after getting protests regarding the crossposting of flocked content.

What the not-locked-in commentator said, I think it doesn't work with some layout styles. I can also see the boxes.
There is another unintended side-effect. As far as I know, if someone uses this stupid cross-posting feature, then by default the box for cross-posting is checked for public-entries. So by hiding the box there's no option anymore to manually uncheck it. For locked posts you have to manually check the box, so by hiding it with the code insert at least it cures the most problematic case of this "feature". Though it still leaves the "style=mine" problem, and that it doesn't work with all layouts.

Well thank goodness LJ is adapting the whole thing regarding flocked content, so that will be much better already.
