My Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings Complete Soundtrack has arrived!!! *bounce* The box (which is much thicker than I had expected) and the booklet are GORGEOUS! Ah, now the long wait begins for the other two... oh and there will be a book released this year, "The Music of the Lord of the Rings Films", with even more information about the music! *bounce bounce bounce*


ETA: OMG!!! The full Hobbit drinking song of Merry and Pippin is included, as well as the full version of "The Road Goes Ever On", and it seems that the Lay of Beren and Luthien as sung by Viggo is included too, since they list Viggo among the cast performers, and also Ian McKellen though I don't remember him singing...? F***ing AWESOME!!! *more bouncing*

So this is the soundtrack to FOTR with a bunch of extras? (essentially) Is it worth buying if you already have the FOTR soundtrack?

It's the COMPLETE soundtrack - meaning it features the complete score of the EE DVDs. The soundtrack covers 3 CDs, each with something like 12-14 tracks, and there is also a DVD with the full soundtrack in higher quality. It has a booklet explaining some of the themes for characters, cultures etc. If you love Howard Shore's LOTR music, I'd definitely say it's worth getting, for the fact that it's the complete EE soundtrack alone! The TTT and ROTK soundtracks will follow, but apparently we'll have to wait until early 2007 for the latter! *pouts*

DUH, right... hmm it only was included once though on the CD, and Bilbo's version, I'd say. I was puttering about though during the early tracks so maybe I just missed Gandalf's rendition of it. Will have to listen again when I get home!
