They were talking about what makes a good James Bond on the radio today, which led to the latest Bond-girls talking about Mr. Whatshisname's kissing technique, which they praised quite elaborately. And of course all I could think was, "Hmmm, Sean Maher as James Bond...?" :) Blame it on all the Firefly fan fic I read over the weekend. For some reason I hadn't really gone look for it before, but now I stumbled into [livejournal.com profile] talkcrazy (Dominant Simon... *whimper*) and the Firefly's Glow Archive, where most of the NC-17 stories seem to involve Simon in some way (Well no wonder, I mean hello, Mr. Sean "The Bod" Maher?! *drools*), though surprisingly few are Simon/Kaylee, instead mostly Simon/Mal or Simon/Jayne, or even Simon/Mal/Jayne (and yes, some Simon/River thrown in for good measure).

Minor earthquake yesterday. Err, make that earthquakeS - we had three, same epicenter at a nearby mountain pass. One in the early afternoon, two withing minutes of each other shortly after 10pm, though I only noticed one of those. Nothing big at all, just a slight trembling/shaking and grinding noise. The strongest one, in the evening, apparently had a magnitude of 3.0. Heh, I didn't even check if any of my action figures fell over - some have a tendency to do that.

I'm feeling oh so productive. NOT. Woke up after 6am this morning, having to get up at 6:55. Quite an improvement over previous nights, when I'd wake up something like after 3am and then only sleep fitfully until the alarm went off. Will have to remember to take my homeopathic remedy again tonight. I seem to get these phases more and more often, bleh.

It's sunny again, after a very dreary Monday and Tuesday morning. Thank goodness - sleep deprivation and dreary weather are not a good combination for me!

Right, back to work... *sighs as she notices the time*

HAHAHAHA Someone is really focused on Sean these days :D I have to say though when you talked about the stories and you mentioned Simon/River thrown in for good measure, can't help but remember Sean's reaction to that ROTFLMAO! Priceless!

Earthquakes? Glad they weren't anything big! And that you slept better last night *hugs* The QoE says that as you get older you get worse at sleeping - hope that isn't happening to you and I pray to the Gods that it never happens to me!!! *shudder*

I can't help it!!! *blush* Not like I'd want to anyway... ;) Oh yes that was hilarious - he was already incredulous at Simon/Jayne, and then this... but hey, he asked, so we answered truthfully! *giggle* Apropos Serenity Cubed, what were he and Jewel talking about again when Sean almost fell off his chair laughing? I have a complete blackout regarding that!

Oh PLEASE not this early! You at least don't seem in danger of falling victim to lack of sleep anytime soon. *is envious*

It was regarding the dinner scene, where they were all supposed to laugh at something said, but Nathan told everyone but Ron not to laugh...so when the time came...only Ron laughed while everyone else reminded dead-pan *giggle*

Nope, thank the Gods not! Unless I have another week of insomnia...which, I pray to the Gods doesn't happen again. That nearly killed me :/

Right, that's it!!! And Ron was confused but just continued to laugh anyway! *giggle*

Urgh no, don't need that! *hugs*

Yeah and so much for continued sleep improvement... *growl*

LOL Poor Ron, I still swear he smoked too much pot in his youth lol But I do adore him :d

*hugs back* Nope.

Rats!*hugs* So the homeopathic remedy didn't work? Well, if it's any help, I had a fitful night too last night (think I jinxed myself talking about insomnia)couldn't sleep for ages, finally after reading for a few hours, I managed to drift off fitfully at around 4am - and then was awakened by William at around 8am *groan* He has an upset tummy again it seems *sigh* So, feeling rather crossed eyed with lack of sleep my ownself.

Have you tried putting lavender oil on your pillow to aid sleep?

Date: 2006-10-26 09:08 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ourdramaqueen.livejournal.com
LOL yes, he has a very infectious laugh!

Aww how nice of you - just out of sympathy, I'm sure... ;) Nope, it didn't. And lavendar - ewww! I can only take it when it is VERY discreet - or standing amidst lavendar fields in the Provence, funny enough then the scent doesn't bother me at all although it is strong. So I'll just have to keep taking the homeopathic remedy.

Oh dear, hope William's tummy gets better soon!

Have to admit, I've never been that found of lavender either..lol

Not a happy puppy at the moment - going to see if things settle by tomorrow - if not, it will be off to the vet again *sigh* *cuddles Sir William*

LOL we have such similar tastes, it's almost scary sometimes! :)

Awww hope the vet visit won't be necessary! Give him a cuddle from me!

*cue the twilight zone music* lol

Visit was necessary, he threw up last night and really wasn't a happy puppy. Vet has given him another injection and some antibiotics to take for the next five days and he has to fast today (poor baby!). Vet thinks it just could be that he really has a delicate stomach and can't handle certain things, so we are going to try a different diet and use only specific treats that we know he is okay with. Hopefully that will help. If it doesn't - then the vet will prescribe a specialised diet for him.

I can empathise with the dreary weather. Yesterday was sunny and bright but today it's heaving down with rain yet again. I don't think the ground will take much more as it's sodden already. Earthquakes are weird. We had one here in the centre of England a few years back and it felt as though the ground sudden went from under your feet! Did you get a warning rumble first because we did. It was only a very slight quake and it did not do any damage around us but I wouldn't like to be caught up in a major quake.

Hmm not sure which I noticed first, the rumble or the slight shaking. Yes, I certainly wouldn't like to live in an area prone for strong Earthquakes! *shudder*

Oh yes we do! Basle has gone through a very bad earthquake in 1356 which destroyed large parts of the city, and the Valais is also quite active and in danger of getting higher magnitude earthquakes. Here we usually only get small ones - I think we've had magnitude 4+ before, but only once or twice in my memory. They estimate that in/near Switzerland, a magnitude 7 or higher event is likely to happen about every 1000 years.

Simon/Mal/Jayne ?? That's just wrong!
(Inara/River/Kaylee on the other hand I can truely imagine - and have! - I'll be in my bunk!)
I've just marked a load of kids work on earthquakes. According to 3 of them an epicentre is a place where people meet up after an earthquake!
Action Figures?? What action figures do you have?

ROTFL! To each their own, eh? ;)

According to 3 of them an epicentre is a place where people meet up after an earthquake!

ROTFL!!! Um, not quite! ;)

I have a few LOTR ones - all hobbits, so I have 2 each of Frodo, Merry, Pippin and Sam, and 1 Bilbo - and a few based on the Elfquest comics - unfortunately they never got around to release more than one series, so it's only four of those. Oh right and of course the two Kevin and one Marv action figures from Sin City! Plus other bits and sundry, mostly LOTR related. I will get the Charlie figure from Lost too - not sure about the others yet though. Since I came late to the party, I don't have any Firefly action figures, though from what I've seen they don't look very alike anyway, so... I don't even know if Simon was released? I've only seen Mal and Jayne (or Zoe?) I think.
