They were talking about what makes a good James Bond on the radio today, which led to the latest Bond-girls talking about Mr. Whatshisname's kissing technique, which they praised quite elaborately. And of course all I could think was, "Hmmm, Sean Maher as James Bond...?" :) Blame it on all the Firefly fan fic I read over the weekend. For some reason I hadn't really gone look for it before, but now I stumbled into
talkcrazy (Dominant Simon... *whimper*) and the Firefly's Glow Archive, where most of the NC-17 stories seem to involve Simon in some way (Well no wonder, I mean hello, Mr. Sean "The Bod" Maher?! *drools*), though surprisingly few are Simon/Kaylee, instead mostly Simon/Mal or Simon/Jayne, or even Simon/Mal/Jayne (and yes, some Simon/River thrown in for good measure).
Minor earthquake yesterday. Err, make that earthquakeS - we had three, same epicenter at a nearby mountain pass. One in the early afternoon, two withing minutes of each other shortly after 10pm, though I only noticed one of those. Nothing big at all, just a slight trembling/shaking and grinding noise. The strongest one, in the evening, apparently had a magnitude of 3.0. Heh, I didn't even check if any of my action figures fell over - some have a tendency to do that.
I'm feeling oh so productive. NOT. Woke up after 6am this morning, having to get up at 6:55. Quite an improvement over previous nights, when I'd wake up something like after 3am and then only sleep fitfully until the alarm went off. Will have to remember to take my homeopathic remedy again tonight. I seem to get these phases more and more often, bleh.
It's sunny again, after a very dreary Monday and Tuesday morning. Thank goodness - sleep deprivation and dreary weather are not a good combination for me!
Right, back to work... *sighs as she notices the time*

Date: 2006-10-25 02:18 pm (UTC)Earthquakes? Glad they weren't anything big! And that you slept better last night *hugs* The QoE says that as you get older you get worse at sleeping - hope that isn't happening to you and I pray to the Gods that it never happens to me!!! *shudder*

Date: 2006-10-25 05:06 pm (UTC)Oh PLEASE not this early! You at least don't seem in danger of falling victim to lack of sleep anytime soon. *is envious*

Date: 2006-10-25 09:38 pm (UTC)Nope, thank the Gods not! Unless I have another week of insomnia...which, I pray to the Gods doesn't happen again. That nearly killed me :/

Rats!*hugs* So the homeopathic remedy didn't work? Well, if it's any help, I had a fitful night too last night (think I jinxed myself talking about insomnia)couldn't sleep for ages, finally after reading for a few hours, I managed to drift off fitfully at around 4am - and then was awakened by William at around 8am *groan* He has an upset tummy again it seems *sigh* So, feeling rather crossed eyed with lack of sleep my ownself.
Have you tried putting lavender oil on your pillow to aid sleep?

Date: 2006-10-26 09:08 pm (UTC)Aww how nice of you - just out of sympathy, I'm sure... ;) Nope, it didn't. And lavendar - ewww! I can only take it when it is VERY discreet - or standing amidst lavendar fields in the Provence, funny enough then the scent doesn't bother me at all although it is strong. So I'll just have to keep taking the homeopathic remedy.
Oh dear, hope William's tummy gets better soon!

Date: 2006-10-26 10:44 pm (UTC)Not a happy puppy at the moment - going to see if things settle by tomorrow - if not, it will be off to the vet again *sigh* *cuddles Sir William*

Date: 2006-10-27 06:21 pm (UTC)Visit was necessary, he threw up last night and really wasn't a happy puppy. Vet has given him another injection and some antibiotics to take for the next five days and he has to fast today (poor baby!). Vet thinks it just could be that he really has a delicate stomach and can't handle certain things, so we are going to try a different diet and use only specific treats that we know he is okay with. Hopefully that will help. If it doesn't - then the vet will prescribe a specialised diet for him.

I've just marked a load of kids work on earthquakes. According to 3 of them an epicentre is a place where people meet up after an earthquake!
Action Figures?? What action figures do you have?

ROTFL!!! Um, not quite! ;)
I have a few LOTR ones - all hobbits, so I have 2 each of Frodo, Merry, Pippin and Sam, and 1 Bilbo - and a few based on the Elfquest comics - unfortunately they never got around to release more than one series, so it's only four of those. Oh right and of course the two Kevin and one Marv action figures from Sin City! Plus other bits and sundry, mostly LOTR related. I will get the Charlie figure from Lost too - not sure about the others yet though. Since I came late to the party, I don't have any Firefly action figures, though from what I've seen they don't look very alike anyway, so... I don't even know if Simon was released? I've only seen Mal and Jayne (or Zoe?) I think.
