An Evening With ... Viggo Mortenson
November 28, 2007
Focus Features, Back Stage West, and The Hollywood Reporter invite you to join Eastern Promises star Viggo Mortenson (A History of Violence) for a screening on Thursday, Dec. 6, in Los Angeles.
A crime thriller from A History of Violence director David Cronenberg, Eastern Promises tells the story of Nikolai (Mortensen), a mysterious driver for one of London's most notorious crime families. When Nikolai crosses paths with a young midwife, he finds his loyalties tested as he is drawn into the family's dark secrets.
Written by Steven Knight (Dirty, Pretty Things), the film also stars Naomi Watts (21 Grams), Vincent Cassel (Ocean's Thirteen), and Armin Mueller-Stahl (Shine).
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Mortenson. Back Stage West National Film & TV Editor Jenelle Riley will moderate.
The event will be held Thursday, Dec. 6, 6:30 p.m., at the Laemmle Sunset 5 Theatre, 8000 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, Calif.
Admission is free. To RSVP, call (818) 777-4664. Seating is limited. Please arrive early.
For more info on the film, visit www.focusfeatures.com/easternpromises.
Also, congrats to PJ for being #35 on EW.com's list of the 50 Smartest People in Hollywood! :)
And last but not least, I can't wait to see the film Robert Rodriguez is making/will make based on one of the fake trailers which they apparently showed with his and Quentin Tarantino's Grindhouse double feature: Machete, starring Danny Trejo. The trailer - which is NOT WORKSAFE - just looks so delightfully cheesy and late-70's/early-80's-cheap-action-flick. :)
Favourite lines: "They just f**ked with the wrong Mexican!" and, "Please Father, have mercy!" - "God has mercy. I don't!" BLAM! *snigger* Yes, I obviously can have a very sick sense of humour... :D And can I just say I love it when Danny wears his hair open? *whimper*

Date: 2007-12-01 02:19 pm (UTC)I can't wait to see what Rodriguez will do with this! It's about time he has Danny as the star of one of his films, he's been in most of his previous ones after all, but never as the lead. :)
