Dark Horse Can't Stop the Signal, Relaunches 'Serenity'
2:01 PM PDT 9/20/2013 by Graeme McMillan

Dark Horse Comics will relaunch "Firefly" with art from longtime Joss Whedon collaborator (and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" artist) Georges Jeanty.

Full article at the link. Of course it's not a new series/movie, but it's the next best thing - so I am really looking forward to this comic! :D

How come no one has mentioned this, huh?! ;) (Be sure to go to the Dark Horse MySpace and actually read it.) And there will be a new print comic at the end of the year too, whee! Sounds like we may finally find out a little more about Shepherd Book's past?
ourdramaqueen: (nightrunner alec seregil sick)
No that's not an exploitation film or a whacky Hollywood comedy, but a documentary about two girls who joined the Black Tigers, the elite squad of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) a.k.a. Tamil Tigers. Rest behind cut because it's not very cheerful )

In more cheerful news, I got hailed on on the short way from the closest bus stop to home, and my thin silk skirt was thoroughly soaked and clung to my legs by the time I reached the door. I'm not complaining though - this is just another sign that IT'S SUMMER!!! \o/

Oh and I believe I forgot to mention that I'll have a two-week holiday from 7 July on. FINALLY!!! \o/ Speaking of which, the third and last volume of my "Serenity: Better Days" comic did arrive at the end of last week. Phew! Now I hope that my copy of "Shadow's Return" will get here soon... of course the slight delay in shipment was my own fault because I had forgotten to update my credit card's expiration date, although I was convinced I'd done it for all pre-ordered items... Duh!

You can read an excerpt from chapter one of "Shadow's Return" at randomhouse.com! Aaaaaaaaargh - still 14 days to go until release...

Speaking of - [livejournal.com profile] samena, did you see this entry by Lynn (which has its roots in the comments of this entry)? Street of Lights indeed! Still not quite how I imagine Seregil, but not bad. ;D

*prays to the Postal Gods to deliver her copy of SR as quickly as possible*

*while she's at it, prays for her copy of "Serenity: Better Days" #3 to finally arrive*

The Stingray DVDs will be delayed, but at least Amazon is finally listing them. :) And the cover art looks pretty cool. :D

Two items for [livejournal.com profile] serenitysangel - Sideshow posted more pictures of their Legolas bust. And Orlando has a new project:

A preview of the first five pages of the "Serenity: Better Days" comic issue #1 is available at wizarduniverse.com. Featuring Simon! As does (is?) the cover of issue #3! \o/ Interestingly, they haven't revealed cover #2 yet - I'm curious to find out why. Can't wait for my copy of issue #1 to arrive sometime around/after mid March - and then of course it'll be a wait of 1 month between it and #2, and #2 and number 3... :)

Anyway, night night my dears, sweet dreams to you all!

Stupid head is aching - as usual, coming from the neck. I've been traveling today and carrying around stuff (even if the rucksack isn't all that heavy) and sitting on trains a lot is never good when my back is achy already. It's a leeeeeettle bit better now that I just got a short massage and Bowtech treatment from my sister, which will take a while to really kick in. But at least the pulsing right around the base of my skull is already gone. Must get back to the regular treatments for my back!

In Serenity comic news, I found the following details here, from 23 May:

Serenity: Better Days News
More details have surfaced about the upcoming Serenity mini-series: It will take place prior to the movie, but after the show Firefly, and will be reunite Joss Whedon with "Serenity: Those Left Behind" artist Will Conrad.

plot outline - behind cut due to (obviously) mild storyline spoilers )

and this from 5 June:

In an up close interview in Wizard Magazine #189, Brett Matthews, upcoming co-writer of Joss Whedon's Serentity: Better Days mini-series, commented that the series is set to come out in the later half of this year, around September.
