Today in Los Angeles, Sam Raimi held a press conference to talk about his latest producing project 30 Days of Night out from Columbia Pictures on October 19th!

The IESB, along with some of the other online journalists, couldn’t help but hit him up with a few questions regarding some other hot properties he may or may not be working on right now including Spider-Man 4, Grudge 3 and The Hobbit.

Here's the lowdown - )

And a similar article at the MTV Movieblog, which includes this about The Hobbit:

Oh, and for those in Sweden... Howard Shore will be conducting the Lord of the Rings Symphony on 25th November in Stockholm!

Back from Lucerne. Actually I have been back for the last 8 hours and roughly 25 minutes already, but spent them in bed and then in the bath, because I didn't sleep well at all last night. The LotR Symphony was amazing though! Quite a lot of the time both [livejournal.com profile] shirasade and I had goosebumps - right at the beginning for example - and oh yes there were tears in my eyes at several points during the concert too. I have to say thank goodness the female soloist's rendition of "Into the West" didn't make me feel as weepy as the original does, or I'd have been sobbing instead of just teary. :)

Oh, and before the concert, when we walked through the entrance hall towards the stairs (we were on the 4th balcony), John Howe walked past us! Obviously he was also there to listen to the Symphony. That was actually the second celebrity sighting we had that evening, because earlier while we were looking for a restaurant with normal priced food for dinner, we saw Kurt Aeschbacher, one of the more prominent and long-lasting TV personalities in Switzerland.

Right, I better go look for some dinner before I keel over...

The LOTR Symphony will be in Lucerne on 4th, 5th and 6th May!!!!!!! And there are still tickets - EEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I'M SO GOING!!!! It's not cheap and I'll have to stay the night so that means getting a hotel room but I don't care, I've been waiting for so long for it to come this way and I HAVE to see/hear this!!!! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I'm not sure if Howard Shore will actually be there conducting himself because the details page says "Ludwig Wicki, Leitung" - anyone know if Howard has been at recent shows or if it's usually someone else? It would be the ultimate to have him there, though of course the music is still fantastic even with another conductor. The 21st Century Symphony Orchestra will be playing.

[livejournal.com profile] shirasade - how about it?! It would be great to see it with a fellow fan! Not like others there won't be fans, but... you know. :) And of course the same question goes out to anyone else who might happen to be "in the area" around that time! :D

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! *bounce bounce bounce*

THANK GOODNESS I was rewatching my LOTR DVDs or I wouldn't have gone to look up Howard Shore's website!
