This first one just because I don't think I've squeed here yet about the fact that District 9 got Oscar nominations for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screen Play, among others! So: Squeeeeeeee! \o/

Of course I have to be dead tired when I want to sit down and write some overdue e-mails etc. I'm afraid they'll have to wait until tomorrow night.

Will drag myself to bed now. Maybe I'm very lucky and will dream about what exactly Denna meant when she told Darken Rahl in ep 1.16 of Legend of the Seeker, "Release me, and I'll show you such pleasure that all will be forgiven."

Ah, don't I wish!

Sweet dreams to y'all! ;)

My former coworker (he was in IT here until the end of last year) who joined us at the LotR showing/concert Saturday has read the "Sword of Truth" books that Legend of the Seeker is based on, and is watching the series, so we've been sending a few mails back and forth this morning on that subject. From his reply to my question if the Mord Sith appear in the books (rough translation, sorry):

The Mord Sith have a rather important role in the second part of the first book. small cut due to plot spoiler ) There's lots of torture and sex. ;-)

ROTFL!!! I didn't say anything about particularly enjoying those scenes in my e-mails! So what gave me away - was it the fact that Darken Rahl is my favourite character? Or was it something [livejournal.com profile] shirasade and I said on Saturday? *snigger*

Finally...

I'm all caught up on Legend of the Seeker! Watched eps 8 to 10 yesterday evening, and 11 to 15 tonight. Good grief, ep 8 "Denna" certainly was Fetish Central, with the Mord Sith "Mistresses" and cut for spoiler ) I might have to rewatch those scenes... um. What?! Didn't my LJ subtitle give away that I am pervy that way?! ;P

Also, [livejournal.com profile] shirasade you were right, ep 12 "Home" - besides the annoyingly long and frequent flashbacks - had some... err, interesting moments, if you stop to think about the fact that cut for spoiler ) - which is kind of hot, but at the same time SO wrong, as those familiar with the "Sword of Truth" books know... ;D

Oh and did I mention that finally Darken Rahl (Craig Parker) is getting a decent amount of screentime? And that he seems to have been feeling too hot lately to don his heavy velvet coat, and is instead wearing only this again? *hides droolbucket*

You know, LotS is not the best series ever, but I am enjoying it quite a lot, besides the perving, the fun of spotting familiar names/faces, and admiring the gorgeous NZ landscapes. I think it's getting better and finding its stride. Good fun, and I may well end up getting it on DVD, once it's available.

But now it's time for bed. And hopefully some nice dreams of darkly seductive bad boys and tortured, tainted heroes... ;)

  • Still enjoying Legend of the Seeker, despite Darken Rahl/Craig Parker being missing completely from eps 3 and 4. They better show him soon again, and not only his henchmen. *pouts* At least I have a brand new wallpaper (and of course my screen caps from the pilot) to drool over him... ;)
  • I think I watched too much Torchwood yesterday - bits of various episodes here and there - because I had a somewhat weird night.
  • BBC3 is showing Doctor Who season 2 (err, that's the one with Martha, right?) season 3 starting today, one episode per day, so I can catch up, whee.

Well, time for some lunch - laters!

of Craig Parker in the Legend of the Seeker pilot, which I finally watched tonight. "A few" being 50 - hey, it is/was the man's birthday after all! Happy Birthday "Barbara"! ;) I can't believe it was already three years ago that [livejournal.com profile] lilithlotr and I handed him a birthday card during the autograph session at RingCon in Fulda. o_O

The LotS pilot was good, at least for someone like me who hasn't read the book that the series is based on. I liked the leads (special shoutout to Bruce "Mouth of Sauron" Spence) and I have only a few minor quibbles which didn't diminish my enjoyment. Craig only had a few minutes of screentime overall, but I liked that because it somehow adds mystique to his role. He had some good scenes and omg he looks so hot with that long dark hair and dressed in dark red velvet! *fans self*

Side note: The lead (kinda young-Karl-Urban-ish looking) certainly adds to the eyecandy. ;)

Am downloading ep 3 right now, which I unfortunately can't watch anymore tonight because it's already midnight and I've had late nights both Sunday and Monday due to being out for dinner. Oh well, something to look forward to!

Enough babbling - here's a few teasers:

You can find them along with the 46 other screen caps in glorious 1024x576 here.

Enjoy - and nice dreams! ;)

If you'd like to see Craig Parker look utterly lickable with shoulder-length, dark hair, and clad in red velvet (and in one shot, topless) - here are some screen caps from a trailer of NZ fantasy TV series "Legend of the Seeker", in which Craig plays the baddie. And looks oh so hot. *fans self* I think I'll have to go look for a download after its NZUS premiere on the first November weekend...

Quality isn't overwhelming since it was a Flash file, but they're okay.

This way to the hotness )

*still needs a Craig icon*

ETA: More info about the series at the official website. Including this about Craig Parker's character, Darken Rahl: )
