1. You can ONLY answer 'Yes' or 'No'.

2. You are NOT ALLOWED to explain ANYTHING unless someone comments you and asks — and, believe me, the temptation to explain some of these will be overwhelming. Nothing is exactly as it seems.

This way to my answers )

Yes, there were a few where I would have liked to elaborate... :)

And TVShowsonDVD.com have some news about the Booker DVD release, which is scheduled for August 25th, and also for Blood Ties "Season 2" a.k.a. the second half of Season 1, which is scheduled for October 6th - there's a link to the preorder pages on Amazon for both DVD sets.

Okay on the one hand I'm really disappointed that Lori Dungey is STILL the only LotR guest listed for RingCon - and at this rate, there will be clearly a bigger number of guests from other fandoms than LotR - but I couldn't help but flail (mentally, since I'm at work) when I saw this announcement:

http://www.ringcon.de/pages_en/aktuell/news_detail.php?id=347

From the hit show BLOOD TIES we also have two of the lead characters coming now to Ring*Con 2009!! Kyle Schmid (Henry Fitzroy) and Dylan Neal (Mike Celluci) are looking forward meeting their fans at this years Ring*Con - Europes largest Fantasy Convention.

Oh.My.God.

Of course the term "hit show" is rather ironic because Lifetime bloody CANCELLED it - what else would they do with a show that I love?! But I was really impressed with Kyle and liked Dylan and in fact I'm in the middle of rewatching the British DVDs despite that bloody annoying music which wasn't in the US episodes as they aried and omg I have no idea if I can even afford it this year what with that little trip to New Zealand in July/August and my ex coworker who hosted me last time now having her baby which most likely means having to book a hotel/B&B, but getting to meet Henry Fitzroy would just be awesome... I'll just have to see what my finances look like and if I can even get the time off, I guess. Eeep!

I hope tonight I'll get around to post the other interesting links I've opened in various tabs on my laptop at home.
ourdramaqueen: (blood ties henry)
According to a news item on TVShowsonDVD.com, Blood Ties will finally be released on DVD in the US on 2nd June - ahaha my sister's birthday! A behind-the-scenes featurette will be included, no other extras mentioned. The article also contains a link to the preorder page on Amazon.com (current price there $18.99).

ETA: Of course this is only half the episodes that were shot (11 of 22) because Lifetime for some idiotic reason showed the second half as "Season 2". Here's hoping this set sells well enough for them to release the rest soon!

Argh!

Who the hell is responsible for the new episode title sequence on the British Blood Ties DVDs? Particularly, the very annoying, totally unsuitable song that replaces the nice, simple melody they used in the original? That person should be slapped around, HARD. Yeah, so the lyrics include "want to live forever", big deal - but the style is just WRONG for BT! It's like one of those nervous dance songs and it makes me want to crawl. out. of. my. skin. Did they already use it in the UK TV broadcast?

Why do they do stupid things like this?!
ourdramaqueen: (blood ties henry)
I just (finally) watched the last two episodes of Blood Ties.

They can NOT stop there. That is just... that's ABSOLUTELY NOT AN OPTION!

Do you hear me TPTB?! SOME network has to pick it up from those idiots at Lifetime and finance a (real) second season, and of course just as importantly, air it!

This is... Henry can't, he can't just... and Mike... and okay Coreen, but... Vicki... and now that Asfaroth is...

Aaaahhhhhhrrrgggghhhhhh!!!! They can't leave us hanging like this!!!!

*blows nose*

*takes several deep calming breaths*

*snort* Well in the face of the above, the result of my Elemantal Balance Test, see below, seems rather ridiculous, doesn't it?

Could Blood Ties Come Back?!

Fans, your voices have been heard!

When I posted our TV Throwdown, I asked you guys to email me if a show you loved was missing from the list. Fans of Lifetime's canceled vampire drama, Blood Ties, responded in droves.

If you haven't been watching, here's how fan Tami Z. describes it: "Blood Ties should be on the list of best shows of 2007! It's a great drama about a take-charge woman P.I. that teams up with a sexy vampire to solve 'strange' cases, which also tend to involve her ex-partner/lover cop. The great chemistry among the three main actors (Christina Cox, Kyle Schmid and Dylan Neal) combine with the witty one-liners to make this show completely addicting. You can watch the past 22 episodes on Lifetime's Website. It's a crime drama you can really sink your teeth into! (Pun totally intended.)"

Not that I don't love any show that generates bad puns, but since Blood had been booted from the airwaves, as a dead show it was disqualified from the poll...right?

Not so fast! Because so many of you were so passionate about this series, I did some digging (I've learned never to underestimate a rabid fanbase), and lo and behold, there is hope!

January 28th in the UK

"mid 2008" in the US

Well I guess it's clear which version I'll go for. And should the US version have any extras worth getting that the UK version doesn't have, I guess I'll just end up with two sets.

Now if those bastards at Lifetime would just renew it... *mutter grumble*
ourdramaqueen: (blood ties henry)
I'd just have to tackle-hug him! Why? Well, read the following excerpt from the blog Tanya Huff has on the Lifetime TV website (she's the author of the "Blood" books on which Blood Ties is based). This is about last week's episode, "Wrapped":

And then Peter told me they'd got Danny Trejo to play role cut for those totally spoiler-phobic ). Definitely way cool! Danny Trejo, for those of you who don't know, is one of those amazing character actors who've been in hundreds of television episodes and movies. Check his IMDB listing and I can guarantee you've seen something he's been in. He's not the kind of guy who disappears into the background and I've been a fan of his for a long time now. He works a lot with Robert Rodriguez and he was on Death Row with Kyle. Which is how we got him. It was Kyle's idea. Like I said, definitely way cool.

That's too funny, just last night I remarked to [livejournal.com profile] serenitysangel on Kyle and Danny having been in that movie together, after having noticed their names on the IMDB listing. Squeeeee! Thank you Kyle!!! *virtual tacklehug*

And can I just say how much I love that Tanya can step back enough from her creation to fangirl the series, even though of course they're deviating constantly and particularly when an episode, like this one, is directly based on one of her books? ♥

Now if only the fan sites - anyone - could get hold of mid/hi-res promo pictures again, I'd be a very happy fangirl... yes, particularly of Danny in this episode, but generally any pics of any episode would be welcome!

Everything crossable crossed for Lifetime renewing the series for a (real) second season... particularly with only three episodes being left in this first (faux second) season, and if the end of "Wrapped" is anything to go by, things are starting to unravel... *gulp*
ourdramaqueen: (blood ties henry)
According to Bloodtiescentral.com, "In an interview, producer Peter Mohan said they [DVDs] will be out at the end of 2007. In the US (region 1) anyway." Nothing on Amazon.com so far - but Amazon.co.uk is already listing it for a February 2008 release. I wanted to say "So it's direct to DVD in the UK," but apparently it's airing "on Living Plus 1, starting Thursday, August 16 at 20:00" and uuuuh RTL2 is supposed to be showing it in Germany, but I sure as hell can't find any info on their website so far (not surprisingly - they usually take 2 or 3 years until they pick up a US series), so maybe they are planning on it. Not like I'd want to see it dubbed anyway... *shudder*

Oooooh and very very cool casting spoiler related to my 'who would I have sex with' list so I hope it's true: )
ourdramaqueen: (blood ties henry)
Or more exactly, about one line which I just can't understand, and it's driving me nuts! It's at the end, when Vicki and Henry are in the elevator, ) Argh! [livejournal.com profile] serenitysangel? Someone, please?!

Blood Ties is finally back this Friday!!! *bounce bounce bounce* Will have to go look for a download as soon as I'm back from RingCon. :D
ourdramaqueen: (blood ties henry)
Wanted to post some further thoughts on "Stalking Darkness" tonight but I'm not able to sit over anything for too long. Either my period is about to start a few days early, or it's one of those "maybe-I'll-start-or-maybe-I'll-wait-another-day-or maybe-not-after-all-or..." (you get the idea) ones. My skin certainly hints at the latter, grrr. However I'm finding myself wishing for the Nightrunner series to be turned into films, or better yet, a (faithful) TV series (which would allow for more details to be included). Will have to ponder possible actors to take on those roles... *giggle*

Blood Ties is on hiatus?! *distressed whimper* I sure hope we'll soon find out when Lifetime will air the remaining 9 episodes! And please please please let them order a full second season... *crosses fingers*

Goodness, I can't even be bothered to watch the clips of Dom on Conan and on The View that [livejournal.com profile] txvoodoo kindly provided! And am in no mood to go to bed. Oh well. This too will pass...

Gakked from [livejournal.com profile] baranduin

- Italicise all of the following TV shows which you've ever seen 3 or more episodes of in your lifetime.
- Bold a show if you're positive you've seen every episode of it.
- If you want, add up to 3 additional shows (keep the list in alphabetical order).

Yay, my Blood Ties download already finished - now I can watch it during lunch break! \o/

Rumors, news and sources

5/14/07, 2:50 pm EST - MrCere

MrCere here with a response to a lot of e-mail regarding a scuttle going on about 'The Hobbit' movie. Our friends at AICN.com have been running some rumors about possible directors for the film such as Peter Weir, Stephen Summers and Michael Bay. Even AICN says to take this untested source with a grain of salt and that just isn't credible enough in my opinion. My journalism background informs me that I need two independent sources for a credible story if they are going to go unnamed. That rule gets stretched and bent wildly on the internet but there just isn't enough here for us to run with the story. However, 'thank you' to all the folks who care enough to send in news and tips, your help is highly valued, even if we can't reply or the tip doesn't make it. As always contact the news team via e-mail at Spymaster@TheOneRing.net. (And remember, it's an all volunteer staff!)

Damn slow download speed today - I won't be able to watch ep 11 of Blood Ties before tomorrow evening at this rate... *nervous twitch* Did I mention that in ep 10 there was a scene which had me all jalksfdjöalsjdfasdf? No? Well, there was one. If I had been Vicki I'd have thrown Henry on my desk and ravished him then and there... GUH!

First day back at work wasn't too bad, but am very very tired and doubt I'll last very much longer. *yawns* Night night!
ourdramaqueen: (Default)
Yup, you probably guessed it - some Blood Ties icons, concentrating on Henry of course. :) I've put three behind a cut because they were taken from some (action) moments from episodes 3 (#3) and 8 respectively (#4 and #5), though taken out of context, they shouldn't really spoil anything. Just a warning - the last one in particular may cause spontaneous combustion... *fans self*

So I knew I had seen Christina Cox before, who plays Vicki in Blood Ties, but I just couldn't place her. Which in hindsight is no wonder, because she his blonde here but the one time I had seen her before, she was brunette - in Chronicles of Riddick! She played the female bounty hunter in Toombs' gang. :)

Also, I totally didn't recognise Kyle Schmid, who plays gorgeous vampire Henry, as the guy who bullied Viggo's son in A History of Violence! I really should have because I remember noticing him there - but I guess it's been a while since I watched the DVD.

Found the series on Torrentspy.com, so I guess from now on in addition to downloading Lost on Thursdays, I'll also do Blood Ties on Mondays... :)

Working on the London report, and there will be some pics too. Apart from that I'm just being very lazy - I should go grocery shopping but it's not urgent yet so I guess I'll just do that tomorrow. It's cooled down here over the last couple of days and there's been a light rain on and off, which I guess is good because it was sunny and dry for a long while before, and the plants can do with some water. It seems to be clearing up now, so hopefully we're back to nice sunny spring weather soon.
ourdramaqueen: (Default)
And no, this doesn't have anything to do with Daniel Radcliffe or Equus... of which I really should write a review but it's very difficult to put my feelings into words. The very short version is that it was very good, very gripping and intense, and I admire Daniel a hell of a lot for taking on this challenging role! I still need to download my pics from this trip, but will post some soon, hopefully. In any case it was a lovely time! :)

So, regarding that other thing... [livejournal.com profile] serenitysangel mentioned a while ago that there would be a new vampire series, Blood Ties, based on a series of books by Tanya Huff. She also had found some pictures and yes the vampire certainly looked rather tasty. I put the books on my Amazon Wishlist and then kinda forgot about it again. Yesterday I found a link in [livejournal.com profile] anatketani's LJ to a Youtube user who has uploaded all the episodes (up to #8 - the missing fith clip of the episode "Love Hurts" is here, btw.), in their entirety. I watched the two-part pilot last night, and the rest of the series today, and omgomgomg this is sooooo good and Henry (the vampire) is very hot and I love the (sexual) tension between the three leads. Now that I had a taste I can't wait for more! I really should know better... *headdesk* As [livejournal.com profile] serenitysangel likes to say, "I can resist anything but temptation" - certainly when it comes to certain subjects... :)

PS: Still catching up...
