You'll have to claim the extension - more info in this post in [livejournal.com profile] paidmembers.

*uses Quills icon because she hasn't done so in a while and recently rewatched the film and the cast is so great and particularly Joaquinomg - and didn't he appear in one of my recent involved dreams?!*

I had been wondering why the status page was down too. Ahahah they link the clip about the Internet Crash which I had linked two entries ago! :D Those with paid accounts, be sure to check back at [livejournal.com profile] news or [livejournal.com profile] paidmembers regarding compensation, if you don't have them on your flist. And do check out the video in my previous post, in case you missed it, because it's hilarious.

Damn. Last night the former secretary of our motherhouse's director sent me a few pics from NZ, which was the last stop on her one-year world trip that ended this spring. *cue nostalgic/yearning music*

Secret message for [livejournal.com profile] serenitysangel: Remind me please to send you and QoE links to some dress patterns which I'll use for you-know-what! I keep forgetting to do it! :D

What the *bleep* is up with LJ please, not loading pages or only after the gazillionth try?! This is the second time in a week, and no it's not IE (same in Firefox) or my internect connection (I can reach other websites just fine)!

*stab stabbity stab*

*takes deep breath*

Anyway - look what [livejournal.com profile] txvoodoo found!!! :D

More hi-res pics from yesterday's Joseph afterparty at the Sparklies Gallery - there's some Lee and Keith too, [livejournal.com profile] serenitysangel! ;)

*copies the text of this entry because the post probably won't go through until the gazillionth try* Gosh, on the first try! /sarcasm

ETA: Weta does Doctor Who collectibles!!!

ETA2: For those going to LFCC - there are now tickets available for Dom photo sessions on the Saturday! ETA: And Sunday!

Ack, I hate doing this - but here goes:

I'm currently on a mission to cut down on distractions - online and offline - and I'm afraid as part of this, I need to make a friends cut. I know I could just scroll by my flist or use filters, but my silly brain tends to get stressed out at knowing there are so many posts on my friendspage and I hardly ever comment on any of them, so I'm afraid this is the only way for me to bring a little more peace and quiet to my frazzled brain.

The cut will happen within the next half hour or so. Obviously, people I interact with more or less regularly on LJ and/or other venues (e-mail, forums) will be staying on. I can't really give you any firm criteria I'll go by otherwise, I'm afraid - current-ish level of interaction plays a role of course, but isn't the only point. I hope those who are unlucky and get unfriended won't take it personally; I'm sorry if you're disappointed, but - see first paragraph. I'm not posting that many flocked entries anyway, so unless you're interested in my pretty boring personal life (and feel free to say so if you are and have been unfriended), you won't miss much - and hey, getting less lameass comments (if any) from me can't be that bad, right?! ;)

In the same vein, I give everyone amnesty to unfriend me - whether I keep you on my flist or not. No hard feelings. :)

All the best to all of you, and thank you for making my LJ experience such a great one!

*huggles*

A message from Six Apart's Chairman/CEO regarding the recent wave of (in many cases wrongful) suspensions:

Well we really screwed this one up…

Glad to hear they'll review all suspensions! And I hope this will be a lesson to them. Edited to add: However, that whole thing about the profiles of (some of) the suspended LJs not making clear that they're, say, fiction/not promoting child abuse etc. - well DUH of course not if you only look at the interests! If a disclaimer "this is fiction only" etc. isn't enough, well...

Ahahaha you have to read [livejournal.com profile] ladysunrope's brilliant reply to the apology.
ourdramaqueen: (Default)
Wow [livejournal.com profile] ladysunrope, you'd love it here right now - we got a decent amount of snow since yesterday, so there's now LOTS of untouched snow lying about, with more falling. :)

Blah, back at work. Like [livejournal.com profile] serenitysangel said in her last post, I could really do without work, if not for the no money coming in issue!

Today, and particularly tomorrow, will no doubt be interesting... I slept about two, maybe three hours last night! Went to bed at a somewhat decent time, but despite being tired couldn't fall asleep. Not so surprising, considering the times I'd gone to bed the previous couple of nights, but I had thought I was tired enough to sleep. Since I wasn't, I decided instead of tossing and turning I'd get up again, and typed up something that had been going through my mind for a while. Then I remembered that I still hadn't filled in the short questionnaire for the bi-monthly in-house paper at work (as of 1st January I'm a new member of the editing team, whee!), which I had intended to do over Christmas/New Year, so since I still didn't feel sleepy I next did that. Then I looked something up online, but finally decided despite still not being sleepy enough to sleep, I'd really have to go to bed now, or I wouldn't even have to bother anymore. It still took me quite a while until I fell asleep - certainly didn't before 4am - but at least I dozed most of that time. So far I'm not feeling too bad, though I'm certainly not bristling with energy, but from previous experience I know that usually the day after the day after is much worse. So I hope that tonight I manage to go to bed early and will be able to fall asleep immediately!

On the creative front, I made some progress with my mood theme, which I've been working on for I don't know how many months already, on and off. I still have about 20 moods to go and don't have ideas for all of them yet, but have made a list of additional DVDs to sift through for screen caps, so I'm hoping to get it finished over the next week or two. It's a lot of work (there are something like 165 moods, I think, or even more?), and of course it's easy to get lost in whatever film or TV series you hunt through for suitable caps, thus losing time, LOL. I admire those people who crank out mood themes within a short time - but then they're usually limited to, say, one actor or TV series, while this one of mine encompasses all my favourites, so there is much more source material to go through. And it is fun, so it's all good, and I guess it keeps me out of mischief. ;)

Flyby post, since I'm heading out in a moment: Does anyone have the December 15th Entertainment Weekly? Is there anything new in it? ETA: Oh well, it seems that it's the same article regarding The Hobbit that I already linked a short while ago.

PS: Office Christmas party was great fun, and I even got to do some serious dancing, hooray!

PPS: They put back the old userpics listing by alphabetical keyword order... in addition to the new messed-up thumbnails listing. *rolls eyes* And I see the old font is back too. Still would prefer if they hadn't split up the post options to some above, some below the post box! WHY fix something that ain't broke?! *shakes head*

Right, I'm off to the Christmas market. Be safe, TTYL!

Ew?

I think I'll have to get used to the new LJ update page layout... *moves around gingerly*

AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!! What f***ing order are the icon thumbnails in?! It's not alphabetical by keywords, and it's certainly not in upload order - not even in the dropdown list!!! Do they think we all have time to do in-depth searches for a particular icon each time we post, particularly those of us with 100+ icons?!

*takes deep breath*

Short fuse? Who, me? No, I'm not in need of a long weekend at all, why do you ask?

Happier tidings... a gift I ordered for a certain someone has arrived today, and it's gorgeous, yay! I just pre-ordered the mixed meat for the Fondue Chinoise (aka Chinese Fondue) we'll have on Christmas Eve at my parents'. I'll have to go back though as for some unfathomable reason I told them we'd be 10 people instead of 9, duh! Also bought the last ingredients I'll need to make dessert for that night.

Ahaha I actually own "Rico Suave" on CD single... However, what sort of idiot is this guy?

But Joaquin Phoenix basically croaked his way around the screen as Mr. Johnny Cash - Que?! He did a fantastic job!

Word has it that Elijah Wood was just cast as Iggy Pop - "just cast" - boy, are you out of the loop!

On the health front, although my coughing fits are less frequent (my homeopathic medicine is working, yay, albeit slowly), they're still exhausting, and last night was the first time that I had coughing fits after lying down. I did sleep pretty well after i finally fell asleep, but I'm already sleepy again and it's not even 2:30 in the afternoon yet... Gosh, I wonder why the word "sleep" showed up three times in that last sentence? *yawns*

Ah well, soldier on and keep thinking of Sean in Wedding Wars... ;) TGIF tomorrow, and it will end with the office Christmas party!
ourdramaqueen: (everything is illuminated sleeping)
All those with paid accounts, go here to get 7 days added to your paid account, to make up for the recent complete outage of LJ. If you have more than one paid LJ/community, you'll have to do it for each one separately!

Good grief I may not last very long today... *yawns*

Unfortunately due to Real Life matters, [livejournal.com profile] bunniewabbit soon won't be able to spend as much time scouring the internet for exclusive Elijah tidbits as she used to. :( However, generous as she is, bunnie decided to share her search techniques with us, so we can all search and find and, most importanty, share the Elijah treasures hidden in the depths of the internet. So if you want to help, or even if you just want to squee about the findings of others, please join [livejournal.com profile] elijah_finds. And do spread the link around - the more of us participate, the more we'll find! :D

On a semi-related note, I've been itching to make an icon of this one spoiler picture of Elijah in Paris je t'aime, but seeing the spoilery nature and as it's only just opened in the US and not yet in the UK and many other countries, I instead went for a wallpaper, so I can at least stare at it on my own desktop... :) I do want to share it with those of you who have seen Pjt or don't mind to be spoiled. And as a further "warning", it's from the last bunch of spoiler pictures [livejournal.com profile] bunniewabbit posted a few weeks ago, and it was the one that made her and many of us go all unnecessary, while others were a bit squicked. But enough hints - I hope those of you venturing behind the cut will enjoy it!

DO NOT LOOK AT THIS WALLPAPER UNLESS YOU DON'T MIND SPOILERS FOR PARIS JE T'AIME!!! )

I slept well last night - all of the four hours or so that I got. I wasn't early in bed to begin with, but when I lay there my brain just wouldn't shut up. Occasionally I'd drift off for a minute or two, then my thought processes kicked into full gear again. You wouldn't belive the amount of data one brain cell can process... And it wasn't even about anything that's worrying me - just random stuff, jumping from this to that to here to over there... so I got up again at about... oh, 2:30? Made myself a cup of tea and put the first Firefly disc into the laptop to go hunt for a Simon screen cap I could use for my mood theme (which is progressing ever so slowly). Gave up for the night after I had finished my tea, and then I finally did fall asleep, but of course it was about 3:30 by the time I went back to bed, and the alarm went off at 6:55 as usual. Speaking of which - did I ever mention I HATE my alarm clock? It's still the first one I ever got, one of these cube shaped radio alarm clocks that goes DOOT-DOOT-DOOT-DOOT-DOOT until I hit the button. I haven't used the radio feature for aaaaages, and the plastic cover once was white but now is more of a dirty yellowish shade. It's ugly. But the worst thing - I used to be all right with its tone, but not anymore. It literally shocks me out of sleep. Not the best way to start a day, especially when it rips me out right from the middle of a dream! I never got around to go look (and listen) around for a new one, but now I saw a "Zen alarm clock" or some such in a catalogue which apparently emits a single, soft bell-like tone, starting gently and gradually getting louder. Sounds perfect to me! No extras except a timer function, but that's all I'll ever need from my alarm clock. I think I'll have to invest in that!

Saw Pirates of the Caribbean 2 Sunday night. Cut for possible spoilerage )

Two quick, hot fic recs, before I forget them again:

[livejournal.com profile] ismenin wrote some short, but hawt pron set in her Inca universe (Dom/Lizhe of course), as well as a lovely sonnet set in her Son of the Sun universe. Available here.

And many many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ladysunrope for pointing out Ten Times (Dom/Lijah) by [livejournal.com profile] v_angelique. Ever had hot flashes while reading fic? *fans self*

Make sure you have some ice nearby before you follow the links... ;)
ourdramaqueen: (lij sexy badass)
Saw some people on my flist complaining about LJ going to Richtext automatically when they make a new entry - [livejournal.com profile] elanorgardner pointed out this entry in the [livejournal.com profile] lj_support community dealing with that problem. Sheesh...

Dom on Craig Ferguson tonight, for the Americans on my flist.

[livejournal.com profile] bunniewabbit has found pics of Elijah in Cannes. He's wearing the black, slightly transparent Hooligans London screening shirt, AGAIN with a t-shirt/undershirt underneath, tsk. Boy, we want to see you wear it WITHOUT the undershirt!!! *goes all unnecessary for a moment at the image* That's your fault, [livejournal.com profile] dutch_eowyn! *cough* Um, oh yes, and bunnie has links to some videos too. On the top of the one page there's a banner for Hooligans, opening May 31st in French cinemas, yay! :D

Argh, want to icon some of those pics but I am way too knackered and need to crawl off to bed now that I've finished perusing my flist... hope I get around to replying to comments tomorrow.

Nighty night!

and My weather )

Some entry on my flist totally messes up the rest of the page it's on (currently at the end of skip=25). As soon as the entries progress onto the next page I can see them though. The last entry I can see is [livejournal.com profile] vshendria's voice post - but without comment links - and then it's grey bars only, which are at the beginning of each entry in my layout, but here they appear without the date that's usually in them. Very weird, but no biggie.

I'm very glad [livejournal.com profile] serenitysangel isn't here with me, or she'd have growled at me for whimpering and drooling over Lucas Buck when I was just watching "Strong Arm of the Law"... Such a sexy bastard! "Perfectin' justice." *whimper*

Oh yes, and I saw Aeon Flux (which to my surprise was quite good, as that kind of film goes) and it took me to the end of it to figure out where I'd seen the actress playing Aeon's sister before - she played Simone, Dr. Royer-Collard's child bride, in Quills! Charlize makes a good figure as an action heroine, and for any Marton Csokas fans out there - yes it is worth getting for his sake as he has a lot of screen time and looks quite yummy too. :)

Right, I have more stuff to do and need some nourishment first of all...
ourdramaqueen: (ddk jin abs)
Phew! Spent all evening working on the layout of [livejournal.com profile] danieldaekim. Might still dabble with the colours of the boxes, but have to take a break from staring at code now! Good thing though that I found [livejournal.com profile] component_help - found some very helpful tutorials there. :)

Oh yes, and I was thinking how great it would be to have a DDK mood theme for the community... but oy, I'm not even halfway through with finding pics for my own mood theme, so that will have to wait!
ourdramaqueen: (Default)
Oh friggin' hell!

It's not enough that the "minimise my inclusion in search engines" option is worth shit (Google's blog search robot certainly doesn't seem to recognise whatever LJ does to discourage them from including my LJ, so I had to complain to Google and have them take me off their list manually). No, it's also possible for external sites to automatically get a feed of the newest pictures that were posted to LJ. Like this one. Which is one thing - but it means they actually hotlink the pictures. I only noticed because I happened to look at the 100 latest visitors list in my site stats, and found that the wallpaper I just posted (the file is on my website, not Photobucket or Imageshack) had been hotlinked by at least half a dozen such sites! Now I have plenty of bandwidth and it's not much that gets used, but for others this might be a problem. Besides, hotlinking is just plain fucking rude! So if you want to prevent Livejournal from giving others automatic access to the latest pictures you posted, follow the advice that the webmaster of above site kindly provides (and you can ignore this if you only post friendslocked):

To opt-out entirely, go to the command console and type "set latest_optout yes" (without the quotes) and hit execute. You must be logged into LJ to do this.

Swisscom Mobile turns Switzerland into one big hotspot

So with this technology, next time I have a cinema day in Zurich I could bore y'all to death with real-time updates. ;)

Totally unrelated: I'm thinking about creating my own LJ mood theme (since I don't have enough to do otherwise... *cough*), but - what would the theme be?! LOTR? Lost (I have that right now, so probably not)? Elijah? Dom? Both? Someone else/everyone from my List of Lust? All my obsessions including various TV series, books, movies, actors, musicians etc. etc.? Will have to think about it; don'e expect anything anytime soon. :)
ourdramaqueen: (frodo manson ttt)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I should know better than to compose long posts in LJ... accidentally hit the Escape key once, and all is gone!!!!!! *censored for excessive swearing*
ourdramaqueen: (lij te anau)
I've only replied to very few posts, and hardly to any comments - I've just not been feeling all that communicative. But I will endeavour to catch up on all that from tomorrow on.
ourdramaqueen: (domlijah love is here)
Good grief! I've done nothing but catch up and rightclick-save pictures and add LJ entries to my memories this afternoon... and I still have Lost stuff to catch up on, fic (I see [livejournal.com profile] ismenin just posted more Mac Tire, yay!) plus non-fandomish entries by my friends. But dinner first, and there's some RL stuff to do too...

Big huge comforting hug to [livejournal.com profile] trianne!
